Six

Sage stood in the center of the room blindfolded and nose plugged. She stood at the ready and waited. Nothing happened. she strained her ears and heard mummering from outside the room.
"She is my daughter damn it. Please let me in there. I need to know she will be safe."
"Rhage not now. She doesn't know yet. Besides I will be with her tomorrow. Please just let me do my job and train her properly. Wrath ordered her trained. Leave us be."
"Let me watch. Wade watches why can't I?"
"Because what you will see isn't going to go over too well with you buddy. She's in there waiting for me to begin. Do I need to call Z out here to remove you from this gym?"
"Fine I'll go, but I will be speaking with Wrath about this. What can't I see? Why can't I help?"
"Because we attack her. Because we use jars to train her. Because we don't go easy on her. Because she does get injured. Please just go. She's waiting."
She removed her blind fold and nose plug and walked toward the opposite door. The one that lead to the servants staircase. She took the stairs up and walked to the back deck. She finally found her father. She finally knew who he was. Why wasn't she told. She sat on the step and put her face in her hands. She was finally with him. She was going to be put in the field at dusk tomorrow and she desperately needed the training today but she was so confused. She couldn't get her mind off the questions she wanted to ask him.
Where had he been all her life? Did he ever come see her? How had he kept his secret from her mother? Did her mother know? Had she told him about her? Did she have siblings? Did he miss her life on purpose?
She wanted to ask them all but she couldn't bring herself to find him and ask them.

Wade walked up the servents stairs. He followed her scent to the back deck. He saw her before she knew he was there. She was dressed in her black leathers and black tank top. Fighting gear. She looked strong and so small at the same time.
"I am coming. I will be down in a few minutes." She said softly.
"I've come to see if your okay?" He said as he approached her.
"Well I know that my father lives in this house. I have so many questions for him. Did he even know about me?"
"Honestly, no. He had no idea you existed. I know him. If he had known he would have found you. He and his mate can't have children. So they've desired children."
"He never knew. How is that possible?"
"He assumed that she wasn't fertile. She never contacted him. He waited months and she never called him. Never answered his calls. So he assumed she didn't want him anymore. Then he met Mary and got mated. That's how."
"So why don't they have children?"
"Because I am infertile from cancer treatments before I met him. It's the only way the Scribe Virgin would allow me to live and remain his." Mary said from behind them. "I never knew about you. He didn't either. But Butch asked me to come get you. Your training needs to be finished today before the hunt tomorrow."
He watched Sage rise and walk into the house. He knew that Mary was hurting. Rhages past always made her hurt. He knew that she needed space so he rose and moved to walk away.
"Please don't tell Rhage where I am." She begged him.
He nodded and walked away.

Why had she gone out to the deck? Why had she spoken to the girl? Now she was more upset than she had believed she would be. Rhage had a past and she grew to deal with it but now there was a child and she couldnt bring herself to look at the girl. She wanted to celebrate with Rhage but it hurt so much knowing that child was someone else's. How could she possibly get over the fact that this child existed?
" My dear child. You are burdened. Please rise and look at me." The scribe virgin said to her.
Mary stood and dad as she was told.
" You are troubled by the girls existence, are you not?" She asked.
" Yes, ma'am." Mary replied.
"What has you so troubked?"
"No offense but you didn't fix me to have his children. Now he has a child from another woman. Another human woman. I am expected to be happy and enjoy this time. But I can not do this while knowing she didn't come from me."
"I see, dear girl. I did not fix you because I had other plans for you. You will find out in due time what that plan was. Just know that the girl will bring you much joy. Do not trouble yourself over her. Go celebrate this reunion with your mate and soon the plan will be revealed."
With a flash of light the Scribe Virgin was gone. What plan did she have for her? How could she possibly celebrate this reunion? Mary walked inside the house and went right to the room she shared with Rhage. She needed to think. Why hadn't she been fixed? Why couldn't the Scribe Virgin tell her the plan? What was it?
