Sage grabbed Wades hand and squeezed. He'd been quiet since she told him about her identity. She couldn't believe it herself. How could she be Mary and Rhages daughter. She smiled when he looked at her.
"I suppose you want alone time?" He asked.
"Not at all. I want you to stay. You make me feel... Safe." She said.
"Really? Do you feel anything else around me?"
"Whole, like we are two halves of the same circle. Warm, like I'm cold unless I am with you. Confused, because I feel beautiful and wanted around you but I know I'm not either."
"Nonsense. You are beautiful and wanted. I've wanted you since I saw you."
"Now that is nonsense. I... Never mind."
"You what?"
"Just leave it be, please."
She felt embarrassed about what he said. She felt embarrassed about what she had almost told him. No man had ever wanted her. She was not beautiful and no man had ever dared come hear her. She hated that. How could he want her? What had changed? Had she become beautiful after her transition? What was different? She didn't know but she knew her body wanted him. She dreamed of him. She wanted to sleep with him. A pleasure she had only taken part in twice in her life. A pleasure she swore she would safe for her one and only husband. She hoped he was it.

Wade watched the emotions of the conversation race across her face. He knew he shouldn't have pushed her. He should have listened to her. How he wanted to know what she had wanted to say. He really did but in time she would trust him enough to tell him and he would be there waiting.
"I am sorry. I should go. I need to be in the gym class is about to start. Get well." He said softly before releasing her hand and reluctantly walking out.
Outside the room stood Rhage.
"I know you've bonded with her. I know she wants you too. Why not tell her how you feel?" He asked Wade.
"Because she's in a tough situation right now. I will in due time I will." Wade told him before racing to he gym.
A long session on the treadmill would cool him off. He didn't bother changing into running clothes he just got on and cranked the treadmill high and began running. He needed some kind of physical relief. As he ran his body began to feel the relief he needed. He kept going even after his body didn't want to take more. He ran and ran until he physically couldn't run anymore. When he stepped off he saw his father waiting.
"Are you finally finished?" He asked him.
"I dont know. What's up?" Wade asked his father.
"I heard that you are taken with Sage."
"Really? Who said that?"
"I think you know who. If you think we are keeping you from doing that we aren't. I think you should be able to love freely. I learned that with Bianca."
"It's not that."
"Then what is it?"
"She just found out she's not only Rhages daughter but she's also biologically Mary's daughter. That is going to take time for her to adjust to. I want to give her that time."
"But that time could pass quickly if you just told her. I'm sure wants you too."
"How are you so certain?"
"I can smell it on not only you but her. The smells from that room were very strong and not just yours."
Wade was shocked. How had he missed that in there? How had he not smelled the want on her? Was he already a goner when it came to her? He wanted to believe she wanted him. He wanted to tell her he wanted her but he was scared. What if she didn't want him? What if she thought he was unworthy of her? What if Rhage talked her out of wanting him? The thought made him upset. The thought of himself not being worthy of her saddened him. He wanted her so bad. He wanted to mate her and have children with her. He wanted the family his parents had. He wanted everything like everyone else. He wanted that.

"How is it possible she's our daughter when we met twenty years ago. How is this possible?" Mary asked Rhage.
"I don't know. I am sure the Scribe Virgin knows. But I don't want to bother her with this inquiry. We will just accept what is and be grateful we have a child together and one on the way. This is a maricle one we didn't exactly expect." Rhage said as he pulled her tighter to him.
"It's just very unexpected. I can't wrap my mind around it. It's hard to believe I'm not only pregnant but I'm already a mother. You have no idea how happy I am right now."
