"It's not cancer. Your pregnant."
Rhage couldn't believe his ears. Had Jane just told Mary she was pregnant? Could this really be happening? He wanted to go in but the sobs stopped him. Why was his Mary crying? Didn't she herself say she wanted a baby? As he stood there soaking in the information he waited for more words.
" Mary, when was the last time you..."
"Two days before Sage came. So about a month ago."
"Your nearly five months pregnant. I'd like to run some tests but as if right now I need to figure out how to keep Sage alive until Manny comes back with the blood."
"Can't you use what you drew out?"
"The risk of causing her needing is very high. She's not yet mated. It would cause too much fuss. I can give her some vampire blood. The pain is worth her living."
"Jane, she's too far gone for that. We need to give her blood now. One pint should hold her over. But we need it now."
His daughter could have a very premature needing. Who would service her? Would she opt for medication? All he wanted was for her to survive.
"Any news?" Butch asks from behind him.
"Well not as much for Sage. Mary is pregnant." Rhage told him.
" Oh wow. That's amazing... Wait wasn't she supposed to be feeding Sage?"
"Yeah, but they are giving her one pint and hoping that her needing stays at bay."

Sage woke feeling drained and like her whole body hurt. Had she gotten into a fight and been injured. She couldn't remember. She looked around the room for Jane but only saw Wade. He was asleep in a chair in the corner. She smiled, he was never too far away from her. She felt her body pulling her to him, as if it needed him. She was kind of afraid of that but she had better things to worry about. She tried to sit up and groaned as pain radiated through her body. Before she could move again Wade was there and Jane was coming in.
"I hurt everywhere." She croaked.
"It's the effects of the vampire blood we had to give you. We ran out of human blood and are waiting on Manny and Vishous to get more. For now we are glad you are awake." She said, "Can you tell me what happened when you fainted?"
She wracked her brain, "Last thing I remember... Is being in a fight. With lessers, feeling pumped and so angry."
"That's all you remember?" Jane asked again, "It's alright. Sometimes the brothers expirence this when they've gone long periods of time without feeding. For now we wait."
"So, Do either of you know what happened?" She adked them.
"I don't." They said at the same time.
Wade looked upset and started to walk away. She tried to move but groaned.
" Wade, please stay. I feel safer with you here." Groan. "Please." Groan.
He shook his head and walked out.
"You feel drawn to him, like you belong to him, don't you?" Jane asks her.
" Yeah, is that important?"
"Yes because, You my dear have found your mate. And my guess from his reaction to that memory of yours is he knows what happened before but wants you to remember." She said softly, " But don't you worry about that. We want you healthy."

Wade couldn't believe she didn't remember their kisses. Couldn't believe he didn't see the signs of hunger setting in. How could he have missed the signs. As he paced his room the questions kept coming. How could he have left her after she begged him to stay? How could he not tell her about the kisses? What was he afraid of? Rage? He kept pacing and knew that before long be would have to go check on her. He couldn't be away for too long without thinking the worst. She was his alright. His mate, his one true love. Only she didn't know it yet. He heard Manny and Vishous speaking and knew that they had gotten the blood. He hoped Sage would remember soon but having lived through it before himself it's often hard to remember if you can at all. He left his room and knew that he needed to keep his distance. He knew he needed to leave her be but he couldn't. He wouldn't. He slowly made his way to the hospital wing and stopped. Mary and Rhage were sitting together, his hand on her stomach and her head on his chest. His heart broke. He would never get that luxury because he doubted she would love him. Mary saw him and smiled.
"She's awake and asking for you. Go on ahead." Mary told him softly.
He nodded and headed into her room. He saw her laying on the bed talking with Jane.
"Well here he is. Shall I give you a moment to explain what we've discovered?" She asks Sage.
Sage nods and Jane leaves.
"What was she talking about?" He asked Sage.
"I am a genetic match to Mary. I am Mary and Rhages child." She stated plainly.
