Thor didn't know much about Midgard but he did know a thing about demigods like when he first met Percy Jackson.
From the way Percy had powers he was actually a grandchild of two gods, Ægir, he was the Norse god of the Seas that included Midgard.
But Ægir only had one child that was dead that had that last name, Sally Jackson daughter of Ægir. She was girlfriend of also deceased Nico Di Angelo (To bad for those haters this is what is happening you will like it.)
Nico had a sister but she died on a demigod quest with Sally that brought the two of them together.
Nico was the son of Hel who was the daughter of Loki, meaning Thor had a great-great nephew. It was shocking to Asgard that Hel had a children because of her appearance.
He could see the family resemblance in young Percy Jackson
Now this was the problem of telling everyone of young Percy Jackson's family
