"Bri! Everyone is arriving, hurry up!" My mother called up to me from the parlor downstairs.
"I'm almost finished, Mum! I'll be down in a minute!"
Brushing out my brunette hair, I looked at myself in the mirror.
'Damn. I... Look beautiful.' This was a rare thought for me. I had never seen myself as pretty, although some people at school or conventions tried to tell me so. I've had a low self-esteem for years now so I never saw my face or body as "beautiful" or "sexy". Just "not good enough" or "not as pretty as others". Tonight though, I looked amazing. A dark, sea blue dress, emerald earrings, black heels, I was looking fine.

I put on a smile in the mirror in an attempt to pump myself up for tonight. My fifteenth birthday. It was a special day for me. Not because I was getting older, but because I was finally in the age range of my favorite fictional character. Really stupid, I know. I just have this obsession with him. I can't help it. Rin Okumura from Blue Exorcist. I adore him. Handsome, kind, silly, strong, caring, he has everything I could ever want from a guy. I even made my own character for the series who was meant to date him.
