Chapter 12

Grace's POV
I woke up in the bed, where Carl and I talked last night. I guess we fell asleep after we've been talking and laughing the whole night.

I looked next to me and saw Carl still sleeping peacefully.

I got up and walked downstairs, to see everyone sitting at the table and eating breakfast. I looked around and saw Rick smiling at me. I smiled back even though I didn't know why he was smiling at me.

I looked at Dad and he looked pissed, he interlocked both his hands and held them above his mouth, his eyes narrowing at me.

I rolled my eyes. I grabbed a plate and sat down.

"Morning" I said as I sat down and filled my plate with eggs and bacon.

They all said good morning and continued eating. "Where's Carl?" I heard Dad say.

"sleepin'" I answered simply before I shoved my food in my mouth.

"wha' did ye guys do las' night?" Dad said.

I sighed. "nothing dad, we were just talking" I said.

"can I talk to ye for a minute?" Dad said.

I nodded and got up. We walked outside and I breathed the fresh air in.

I turned around and saw him leaning against the closed door.

"so ye gonna tell me wha' happened between the two of ye?" He said.

I rolled my eyes again.
"Dad I already told you, nothing happened! Chill" I said sighing.

"Ye sure? Ye can tell me" Dad said,

"I just did! Nothing happened we were just talking, that's it" I said.
"Why are you so worried about that anyways?"

"I jus' don't wanna see ye gettin' hurt" he answered looking at the ground.

I sighed.
"Dad I won't get hurt. We are just friends" I answered.

"does Carl know tha'?" he asked.

"yes he does" I answered simply.

"he likes ye..." he said.

I sighed again. Probably the 10th time today.

"Maybe, but I don't. Like I said, we are just friends" I said.

He nodded.

"You know Carl longer than I do, so you should probably know better that he's a good person" I said.

"Even tho he is, doesn't mean he won' break ye'r heart anyways" he says sighing.

"Dad I won't get hurt.
I'm a big girl now, I can watch out for myself" I say giving him a smile.

He nodded.

"okay? Now stop shitting yourself every time I'm with him" I said laughing.

He chuckled.
"ok"

I hugged him.

"But ye will forever be my little girl, no matter wha'." he whispered in my ear.

"I know Dad. I love you" I said.

"I love ye too" he said and sighed.

I pulled back and looked at him.
"come one let's get back inside" I said and we got back inside.
Carl was already sitting at the table eating.

He saw me and gave me a smile.
I smiled back and grabbed my plate since I was already done eating I laid it in the sink.

I walked outside and decided to just take a walk. I looked around Alexandria and explored everything. After a few hours I ran into Carl.
