I get off the last bus with $2.30 cents in hand. I don't know how but I do know I was able to save money. That was good.

Night had touched and basically everyone was outside. There were groups and groups of people scattered all down the street. I kept my head low and clutched my hoodie. I don't want to give anyone a reason to stop me.

The house was almost in view. I'm almost there. Then out of nowhere a boy fell to the ground. I shrieked loudly.

It had reminded me of that man. Thinking back to how Jace had that menacing look scared me even more. Why was I so stuck on that asshole anyways?

Because I thought he was different. He's not.

The man being stabbed reappeared. Shaking my head, "No."

The rest of the walk there was peaceful aside from yelling and music, other than that I was not bothered.

At home I stood at the front door just staring at it. I thought about the two dollars I had in my pocket. I could run. I actually had money this time.

The rusted door swung open revealing Dranko and the woman I saw from earlier.

"Where you been?" Dranko asked. He wrapped an arm around the woman and placed a hand on her breast.

She giggled. "Dranko you play too much." The woman was most likely thirty. She wasn't a looker but had a body that made up for that.

"Mind ya damn business. Shit! If she was gone it's cause I asked her ass," Shelly snapped. She wore a tight revealing dress.

Dranko's hand flew back and landed on her face. "Watch yo gotdamn mouth bitch."

Shelly pushed. "Fck you!"

The woman stood in between the two. She placed a hand on Dranko's chest and Shelly's shoulder. "No need fa that. We bouta head out and have an unforgettable damn night. I don't need no Ike and Tina shit." Her hand slithered down to Dranko's bulge and gave it a light squeeze.

I almost threw up. Her other hand tapped Shelly's butt. Both Dranko and Shelly laughed. As if nothing happened the three headed down the steps.

"Clean the house," Shelly called over her shoulder.

"We need you to babysit. We heading out for the night," Alicia said leaving with Daneisha and Mercedes.

And just like that I was home alone. I was able to clean and think in peace for the most part. The boys just kept being loud and arguing.

I would miss no one when I ran away or offed myself. Apart of me foolishly thought Jace was someone that could save me.

Silly me.

Around ten I put the boys to sleep. And everyone was still gone. I decided to take a much needed bath. I wanted to scrub myself of today. Like it didn't happen.

The bath was relaxing and rejuvenating, just like I needed. My wet curls lay at my shoulders, until I wrapped them into a scarf. Next I put on a large black shirt and flare jogging that flooded at my ankle.

I wonder if I didn't live this life would I still dress this way.

The doorbell rang causing me to rush out of the bathroom. I don't want to give them any reason to question me. Just come in drunk and be at peace with me.

But when I opened it. I didn't see any of them. It was Jace. And in his hand was a brown paper bag, that had something smelling delicious and a white piece of paper sticking out.

"You can't be here," I said looking out the door to see if anyone was returning.

He only stood there with a blank expression. "I didn't want to waste the food, and you uh forgot your paper." He shifted from one side to the next.
