Jace turned the radio up listening to Kendrick Lamar song Alright. He was in sync with the lyrics and getting hyped. When that went off and a Drake song came on the nigga started slapping his chest, getting in his feelings. He even kept singing to me, causing me to smile.
When the song went off, he lowered the radio. It was an Iggy song on, I don't blame him. "I got them vocals."
"Oh...that's vocally talented? Damn...could of fooled me," I joked.
He only grinned and fanned me off before exiting the highway. I'm really staying with Jace for a weekend. I can't believe it. I watched as he was focused on the road. He was naturally a cute ass guy. His little facial hair gave him the grown man look. And his style gave him the young guy look.
But was anything going to happen? I'm sure he's not interested in me but what if he...na I ain't thinkin like that. I refuse to. That's Dranko and only Dranko. Not every nigga is like him. Hopefully, Jace isn't.
On our way up to his apartment, he began ordering some takeout. Good because I was hungry. That lunch food didn't do shit.
"Aye..." he trailed off and looked at the three white people at his door.
"About damn time, you're gonna miss the commercial. I heard we're all in it," Bret said greeting Jace. He looked to me and gave a small wave.
The two girls behind him kept their disgusted looks on me. Whenever Rah Rah did it, I didn't give a shit. But those two, it hurt. Maybe because I'm 50% of what they are. I hate being white. There's nothing special about it but misery.
"They're showing it in the media lounge but Bret being the good ole friend that he is wanted to make sure you saw it," The blonde one said playfully rolling her eyes. She then gave Bret's cheek a quick peck.
Jace's eyes widen before he gave Bret a pat on the back, "Finally you two been gettin on me and Mel's nerves wit that 'I don't like em'' shit. Right, Mel?"
The girl behind the blonde one quickly nodded, "Well duh, it was awkward...now maybe we can get on some type of connect with one another."
Jace's smile grew, "Now you know once you go black, you never go back."
Everyone laughed, except me. I felt so out of place. They didn't even acknowledge my presence anymore. Not that I wanted them to. I would only be full of jokes and slick ass comments.
"Oh babe that's a price I'm willing to pay," Melanie purred.
Jace rubbed the side of his face, "Aight so y'all headed down there to see the commercial or what?" Melanie looked offended and the blond eyed Bret, but he was too focused on Jace.
Why did Jace dodge her? She was pretty. A beautiful brunette with a curvy body. Only problem with her was that she had a really plain face and those glasses had to go. But I'm no one to talk.
"Dude it comes on in like..." Bret trailed off, "in like three minutes. No time plus the lounge is full. Let's watch it at your place.
Jace shrugged, "Then let's go." They all began heading to his apartment with me slowly following behind. I don't belong here. I don't fit in.
Jace opened his door to have the blond comment, "You better have food."
Jace laughed and allowed everyone in before him, he looked back at me and sent a friendly smile. "When's your friend comin?"
"I don-" and just like that a buzzing sound went off.
We walked into his apartment as he looked at the touch screen. He looked over to me and smiled, "Yo I guess this them." He pressed a button and faced the group that was already piled on his couch.
