I panted tiredly as I lay beside a worn out Jace. We been going at it for hours. He's good, but damn I need a break.
Wrapping into Jace's arms, I see the sun shining through his curtain. He intertwine his fingers with mine, caressing my body.
I watch him as he laughs, "Damn Maia you gone make a nigga get a dck repair."
I laugh, "My poor vagina wasn't ready."
He smirked, "Shid I thought I was but damn you laid it down."
We both laughed. For a few minutes we're quiet.
"So what happened to your parents?" He asks.
I tense and look from his body to him, "Why?"
"You didn't live with your aunt for no reason. If you don't want to talk about it, you ain't got to," he said.
"No," I say. I never talked about it with anyone but with him I will. "I had an abusive dad on heavy drugs. He uh would beat her badly, but treat me like his little princess..." Flashbacks of my happy childhood came into view.
A tear slipped. It been a long time since I cried over them. "Then one day he saw me hug a boy...Jason Greggs, my first boyfriend." We both laughed, "Well he didn't like it. And he hit me. I told mom and she planned on leaving but he caught us and..." The night that changed everything for me, "...he killed her then himself...in front of me."
"You know the worst part though?" I say, not really to Jace but myself. It was like it was my first time acknowledging it, "I miss them. Both of them. The damn monster took away my only happiness and I miss him too. God, what is wrong with me?"
"You human. I miss the woman that walked out on me as a kid. Shit she don't deserve It, but I can't fight it."
I nodded. I have tried fighting it but it doesn't go away. I was his little princess and he was a monster. It doesn't make sense.
"So what about her?" I ask looking at the closet.
Just like me, he tensed. "Aaliyah Matthews. She was going to graduate this year and go to school to be a doctor." I looked to see him staring hard at the closet. "Didn't happen. You know that library?" When I nodded he continued. "Her dad owned it and they were closin up when that motherfcka went in and shot em both. That's why I deal there, I want that bitch ass nigga to slip and come back."
"She was your girlfriend wasn't she?"
He looked at me for the first time, "...yeah. I thought I found the one. I mean she didn't care for my lifestyle but she...we moved in together after she had our kid. We were plannin on movin out after she graduated. After that incident I couldn't stay there no more. That was Rah Rah's favorite girl, that's why he gives you a hard time. It's hard for him just like me."
I looked down. I bet I don't compare to her, especially if Rah Rah likes her. "Did they find out who did it?"
He smacked his lips, "I know who the fck did it. That bitch ass nigga Roscoe. He did it to show he the real nigga but when I find that nigga he's done. He took my life away...and any motherfcka that get in my way can catch it, too."
"I'm sorry," I said.
That's who Roscoe was. He took away Jace's happiness. Would I have even came into his life if she were still here?
"She knew," he started, "she knew you was being abused. It didn't make sense to me, now it all does. She liked you." Jace lifted my chin to where I was looking at him. "She also knew that I was drawn to you from the minute I saw you. I don't know what it was but it wouldn't go away."
