"It was here, right here."
Charlie stared at the blank wall across from her, frowning. It looked like nothing short of a white brick wall to her. Nothing supernatural at all.
"A grandfather clock?" Nancy asked.
MAx nodded, frowning deeper. "It was so real." She shook her head. "And then when I got closer I suddenly just... woke up."
"It was like she was in a trance or something. Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy." Dustin explained to the others.
Max turned to face the group, "That's not even the bad part."
The redhead led them back to the office, laying out the folders. "Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms.Kelly for help. They both were having headaches, bad headaches that just wouldn't go away, and the nightmares, trouble sleeping, waking up in a cold sweat."
"And then they started seeing things."
"Bad things, from their past. And these visions, they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually...everything ended." Max finished, gulping down the lump forming in her throat.
"Vecna's curse." Max nodded, "Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred's, six days ago. I've been having them for five days."
Charlie stepped back, beginning to pick at her hat.
"I don't know how long I have, all I know is that, for Fred and Chrissy they both died 24 hours after their first visions." She began to stress, throwing up a hand. "And I just saw that goddamn clock so...looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow."
A crash echoed through the hall, interrupting the redhead's rant.
"Stay here." Steve grabbed a lamp, walking out into the hall. Despite the orders given, Charlie followed closely behind him, holding onto the back of his jacket. He glared at her and she sent back a shrug that said "I'm the one with powers".
They approached the corner slowly, Charlie ready to use her powers if need be. Then, Lucas rounded the corner, Steve seconds away from hitting him with the lamp. Both parties screamed, a smile of relief breaking onto Charlie's face.
"It's me!" He cried.
The girl grinned wide, throwing herself at him. Lucas swiftly wrapped her up in a hug, Robin shining a flashlight in his face.
"Jesus! What's wrong with you, Sinclair?!"
Lucas sighed, releasing Charlie from their hug. "I'm sorry."
Steve shook his weapon of choice, "I could've taken you out with this lamp!"
"Sorry guys." Lucas continued to heave in breaths, placing his hands on his knees. "I was j- I was biking for eight miles, give me one second...shit!" he regained his bearings standing up straight. "We've got a code red."
"What?"
"Dustin." He turned to the curly haired boy, "I've been with Jason, Patrick, and Andy and they've gone, like, totally off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie and they think you know where he is." He explained. "You're in terrible danger."
Dustin nodded, "Yeah that totally sucks but we've got bigger problems right now." He turned to face Max, Lucas looking at his ex-girlfriend in confusion.
