So take your hand in mine it's ours tonight ~

Even though the date was still several hours away, my adrenaline was pumping. When we got back Calum helped me dye my hair and for once I was happy with how it turned out. Selecting my outfit was a lot more difficult now I had actually classified this evening as a date. Eventually, with Calum's help I settled on a fairly random shirt with my leather jacket, the usual skinny jeans and my worn out converse. I never thought I looked particularly great but I didn't look too bad tonight. My hair actually behaved how I wanted it to as well, which was a rarity. I squirted Calum's most expensive cologne over my neck and onto my wrists, as I breathed in slowly (forgetting that a copious amount of perfume was still heavy in the air). I looked at Calum, biting my lip as I searched for his approval.
"You're looking good brahhh." He said barely taking his eyes off his phone. I raised my eyebrows attempting to coerse a more meaningful response from him. "Seriously Mike, you look hot, he'll love it." I wiggled my eyebrows seductively and followed it with a giggle.
"Maybe you're the one I should be going on a date with."
"Shut the fuck up Michael." He laughed ushering me out of the door and to his mum's car. I couldn't stop fidgeting for the whole journey, whether it be playing with my bracelets or my tiny excuses for fingernails.
"Fuck. Calum this is actually happening, what am I gonna do?." I cried in a surge of panic. He chuckled lightly which insulted me "Don't laugh you penis." I scolded with the panic still very much alive in my voice. The journey to Luke's house was the slowest, yet fastest drive of my life. Before I could form another sentence Calum's (mum's) car was pulling up onto the curb outside Luke's house. To say that I was nervous would be the understatement of the century. I shuffled out of the car giving Calum a look that would suggest I was a prisoner on death row, and I was about to have someone lead me to the electric chair. I crossed my heart as I approached his door, my clammy hands bashed the door bell and I waited, trapped in an eerie kind of silence. Calum gave me a thumbs up from his car as an attempt to calm me down. I was half expecting to see Luke's overly bored brother again as the door in front of me opened. The sight I was actually greeted with was far superior however. Luke was stood there sheepishly, with the most adorable smile imaginable resting upon his face. He looked magnificent, his eyes were the brightest blue they had ever been. Without asking you could tell that he had spent several hours to ensure hair embodied perfection; he had succeeded. I felt so ugly whenever I looked at Luke, his smile was that of an angel and every inch if him was bathed in beauty.
"Hi." He said interrupting my relentless daydreaming. My body shook as he spoke, making me look like an idiot before the date had even begun. I chuckled nervously, hating myself for how awfully awkward I sounded.
"Hey." I waved at him, with a smile that was not prepared to leave my freshly shaven face. "You look...perfect." I said not being able to think of a better word to describe the boy. His face flushed red immediately and his shyness returned.
"So do you." He commented looking me up and down. The silence that we ensued previously now returned, it was a mixture between awkward yet odly comforting. "So where are we going?" Luke said with intrigue. This was yet another entirely inappropriate moment in which I decided that a cocky attitude was the best approach.
"I thought we could just grab a maccas, they don't accept bookings but I'm sure they'll have a free booth for us. If not we can just sit and eat it in the car park." I replied with the most serious tone I could manage. Luke's feet stopped dead in their tracks as he looked at me in disbelief.
"Are you kidding me right now?" He seemed more pissed off that I imagined he would be. I simply shot him an awkward smile and looked down to the ground. "Well you can fuck off if you think you can ask me on a date the invite me out to McDonald's instead." Luke wasn't one for taking shit and I guess that was a good trait to have.
"What...uh do you prefer Burger King or something?" I maintained my tone of voice and uncrackable poker face the whole time. Luke blinked hard a few times and gave me the ultimate death stare. I was scared for my life but as he was about to turn round I simply grabbed his wrist lightly and burst out laughing. Calum, who had been watching the whole thing began laughing along with me, because he knew I was only fucking with the poor kid.
"Luke of course I'm not being fucking serious, now get in the car." I demanded, almost out of breath from laughing so hard (man, I was really unfit.) Luke placed himself in the car cautiously and I sat in the back next to him. "Okay let's go taxi." I commanded Calum jokingly, surprisingly he obliged without another word. If we were alone and I said something like that then he would have kicked my ass straight out of the car, but because Luke was with me he was on his best behaviour. The drive was pretty pleasant, I would fill the awkward silences with pointless tales and arbitrary small talk. I decided to take Luke to a cute little pizza place called Frankie's pizza. It was in dthe centre of Sydney. Only the best for Luke Hemmings. Once Calum had dropped us both off he sped away, leaving us by ourselves. Luke smiled slightly as he looked up at the place I had taken him to.
"Is this okay?" I asked complacently while we were still on the curb outside the restaurant.
"Okay Clifford, you win." He giggled as I started to lead him in to the small pizza joint. Of course, I was a gentleman and opened all the doors for him ( ;-) ). When we were inside my nostrils were greeted by the delicious scent of garlic and Italian food in general. The conversations of other people drowned out my thoughts as we stood waiting to be seated. I glanced over at Luke and he looked content; his happiness was all that mattered tonight. After about 2 minutes a young woman who looked about 20 started approaching us. She greeted us with a smile from ear to ear.
"Hello sir, do you have a booking?" She asked with a tone just as sweet as her grin.
"Uh yeah, it's for Clifford." I replied as I watched her scan a long sheet of paper, presumably for my name.
"Oh yes, if you'd like to follow me please." She asked politely, walking us to a small booth in the corner of the room. "Just let me know if you need anything or when you're ready to order." We thanked her and she disappeared back into the crowded space.
"This place looks really cute, you've done well." Luke said sounding surprised.
"Um I am a lot more romantic than you're giving me credit for thank you very much." I sunk into the red cushions on my seat whilst carefully looking over the menu.
"So am I, I'll be choosing next time." Luke said casually but it took me back because Luke inferred that he wanted there to be a next time. I hadn't so much as thought about a second date because as far as I was aware he didn't even want to come on the first. My stomach held a swarm of butterflies I had become accustom to and a warm feeling rose in my cheeks. Luke made me feel good, he made me feel needed. His company was wonderful, he was such a dork and so was I.

"Okay so what's your favourite movie?" I asked trying to learn more about the boy. His cheeks turned red slowly and his head bowed.
"...uh-it's'-uh mean girls." I chortled  immediately as I admired how beautiful he looked while he was embarrassed. "Shut up its a good film." He begun to regain his sass once more.
"Nah bro, I know, it's a classic. I have to say though, I'm more into the superheroes and all that stuff than I am chick flicks." I chuckled lightly
"Who's your favourite?" He asked genuinely. My smile beamed as I thought out my response.
"It's got to be Spider-Man. I don't know why I've just always had a thing for Spider-Man." I could hear Luke giggle almost silently to himself.
"So is your attempt here to turn me into your very own Mary Jane?" I laughed out loud attracting some slight attention from other people in the restaurant.
"Shit Henmings, you've figured me out already." I whispered leaning in closer to him. I provoked a giggle from him, we seemed to laugh a lot when we were in each other's company, it was nice.

We each ordered our food and it arrived relatively fast. I had to admire Luke's taste in pizza. He ordered a Hawaiian and it's rare to find a fellow lover of ham and pineapple. "You have good taste." I commented as I started to eat "Well, clearly." I added gesturing towards myself as a joke.
"May I remind you that you did basically force me to come here." He remarked, deflating my smile instantly.
"Can't see you complaining." I said rather calmly.
"I'm not, I'm having a great time actually. I'd like to see you again if you're down for that?" He asked me hopefully. I had to try and put up a relaxed and casual front but inside I was screaming. Fuck. He likes me, at least I think he does.
"You'll have to check with my manager but I guess I might be able to pencil you in." Luke sensed my sarcasm and laughed along with me.
"It's a date." Luke said gleefully.
"Date-ception." I shot back, flailing my arms everywhere in an attempt to be dramatic. This date wasn't even over and it was already perfect.
