He spun around to face me. As he spoke, armour appeared over my clothes. My sword appeared in my hand.

"Let the fight begin, little mouse."

I circled him, considering my options. He was... Well he was more powerful that a primordial, and could read my mind, so any tricks that I had up my sleeve were useless. I'd have to rely on pure skill and strength, I guess. Good thing I've had 100 years training with the Imithon.

I looked him in the eye and darted forwards. My sword skimmed his arm before being struck back by his. I felt his energy pulsing, and jumped forward, leaning towards offensive.

He feinted to my left and I aimed right, attempting to catch his leg. He twisted out of the way just in time, and rotated his torso before striking my armour with his sword.

The crowd cheered, and I looked towards Ever. She was concentrating on the fight, but gave no indication that she'd seen me look at her. I tuned back in to the fight, just in time to see the butt of the parastie's sword arcing towards my forehead.

I ducked to the left, but his foot was waiting for me. I tripped and fell, then rolled as his sword struck where I had been milliseconds ago.

I leapt up and launched myself at him, striking left and right, head to toe, using every technique that I'd ever learned. He was just too fast.

As the tip of my sword began to sink, I stepped backwards. He observed me carefully, absorbing every available aspect of me.

He struck out, teasing my reflexes. It only took a second, and I swear he hadn't moved an inch. I glanced down at my arm, and saw a thin, red line sliced across my knuckles. He'd caught me.

Again and again, he flashed in and out, covering me in scratches, bruises, making me turn right and left, drawing my attention in different directions just to make me dizzy. By this point, I couldn't feel my legs. I was so tired. The blood had drained from my face, and I was now paler than Ever, apart from the millions of red, harsh scratches that coated my body.

I dodged another strike, then stepped backwards. Panting, I lifted my sword, keeping up my guard. I had a couple of seconds to think.

How on earth was I supposed to beat this guy?! He was stronger than a bodybuilder on steroids with extra popeye mixed in! There was no way I could do it.

I looked up at Ever. She wa still deep in thought. I was so distracted, trying to figure out what she was planning, that I didn't see his sword until it was too late.

"OMEGA!" She screamed. Her eyes widened in horror, and her face paled indefinitely. I looked down to see a large, metal object sticking out of my chest. I kneeled on the ground, clutching to something, anything, any thought that might save my life. I didn't leave everyone behind just to die saving them again.

Someone was laughing.

"So, the heroes fate is sealed, along with his precious camp. They will burn in the pits of Tartarus, but at least they'll be together!" The voice in the back of my mind cackled away, reminding me that my opponent was still right beside me. He was stood still, probably wondering why it was taking so goddam long for me to die.
