I found something else online about this other thingamabob connected to synesthesia.
Visualization has always come naturally to me. I visualize things extremely well. I mainly have trouble with faces, but that's it.
I used to always think everyone could visualize things as easily as I did, but eventually I realized not everybody did. Sometimes, I wondered if I was the ONLY person who could do it, but I just figured some people could, and some people couldn't. I've always had trouble remembering that, and it can make things kind of awkward when I try to explain something that involves visualization.
But I've done some research, and I was kind of shocked to find out that synesthetes tend to have better visualization. It's been hard to find this stuff just with Google because "visualization" is a primary word in the study and I couldn't really find much of the specific way of visualization I wanted to learn more about. But from what I've gathered, it's definitely connected.
I think mine's kind of because of my captions. I mean, if I looked at text, my brain's font adjusts and I automatically visualize those things, and I can't help it. It just happens. But it focuses on the details.
There's been countless times where I'm in school, and the teacher is talking or I'm doing work, and I start to visualize things. It's imagery as well as audio. What ends up happening is, like, I guess I just zone out. But it's almost like what I'm seeing in that moment is real. It's like, I'm not in the actual world anymore, but I'm completely in my visualization world. That seems crazy, but it's the best I can describe it. So I always end up getting distracted by it, and in my sixth grade math class, that actually became a problem and affected me quite a bit. And it's not like I could really tell anybody about what was really going on.
I also tend to visualize things that I end up putting in a story, like the novel sort of books. Yeah.
So yeah. That's about it.
There's something I've been working on that I really wanna post, and I'm worried people will think I'm just making a big deal out of nothing, but it's just, I really can't explain very well, and it's hard. However, I will most likely post it in a couple of days. I'll tell ya when that specific time has come.
Keep bee-lieving :D
