Fat rain drops fell from the sky soaking my blood stained shirt, causing it to stick to my chest. I was too numb to register the cold breeze blowing by. Blue and red lights light up the night sky. Besides the rain and hushed whispers the only other sound was of Cherry's sobs. Normally I would be at her side comforting her. I didn't have it in me right then. It took all my energy not to collapse on the ground.

"Put your hands behind your back." A police officer says as he walk up to me, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Numbly I do as he says and feel the cold metal of the handcuffs on my wrists.

"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you." The officer reads my rights as he nudged me towards one of the many cop cars.

"What are you doing?" Mandy questions as she rushes up to me. "He didn't do anything." She reaches for my arm but another officer comes up and takes a hold of her. Twisting her own arm she breaks away and lunges at me. The next moment her lips were on mine. They were the first thing I've felt since stepping out of that cabin. As soon as it happened the second officer grabs her arm and pulls her away from me.

"You have a right to an attorney and if you can't afford one the court will appoint you one." The officers words all blur together as I'm sat in the back of the cop car.

The door closes and I turn my head to look at the cabin. It looks so innocent from the outside. My eyes are drawn to the door as two paramedics wheel out a gurney with a sheet covered body on it. Despite the sheet I knew who was laying underneath. I'd never get the image out of my head.

I'd never be able to forget this night. None of us would.

After an exam by a paramedic and a blood draw, I'm led into a dimly lit interrogation room and pushed into a chair. The cold metal seeps into my bones causing a chill to run down my spine. I stare at the two-way mirror across from me as the cuffs are removed from my hands. I wonder who was behind it studying me, watching my every move. My hands shake as I lift them to rest on the table while my knee bounces up and down under the table. I wasn't sure if my restlessness was due to everything that had happened or from the coke.

I look away from the mirror as another officer enters the room. This one is dressed in a suit rather than the standard cop uniform. Guessing he was a detective. My gaze follows him as he sits in the chair across from me, leaning back to make himself comfortable. There's a moment of silence between us before he speaks. "What happened?"

Blunt and straight to the point, I liked that. I didn't want to beat around the bush with small talk. Both of us wanted to know what happened. I was still trying to wrap my head around everything. None of it seemed real, like it was all a dream.

"How about you start at the beginning." The detective prompts after I don't say anything.

"The beginning." I repeat, my gaze dropping to the table. Scenes from the night flash across my mind. I sort through all of them until I arrive at the moment it all started.

I take a deep breath before speaking. "I got the text at noon. It was an invite to a party."

"Do you know who sent it?" The detective interrupts. If he continued to do this, we weren't going to get very far.

I shake my head as I say, "It was from an unsaved number."

"And you didn't find that suspicious?" The detective scoffs.

This guy was starting to piss me off. "No. Lots of party invites come from unknown numbers." I explain, my voice tight.

The look the detective was giving me made me want to punch him in the face. "You give your number out to a lot of people?"
