The Welcoming Feast.
If everybody at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had put their best foot forward in welcoming the foreign students, no one had been more ready than the place itself. Indeed, it seemed every corner of every wall of Hogwarts had been dusted — much to the dismay of some portrait who had had to leave their frame for a considerable time to get their painting cleaned. In every mouth resounded the name of the Triwizard Tournament, and in every mind the prospect of this competition was more important than any lesson or exam.
Still, over the past two months, apart from the first and second years, every other student had noticed a considerable increase in their school work, especially the sixth year, yours.
In addition to all the studying you had to do for school, you were also studying advanced magic for Dumbledore. Despite telling you about the order he was organising, his suspicions about the resurrection of the Death Eaters and your prophecy—which soon will be explained to you readers— he stayed true to his secretive self. You tried to ask questions and investigate on his plan, he had one you knew it, but it was really hard to find time with everything going on.
This explained, it shed light on why you were now running in the corridors of the castle, under the judging eyes of every painting, late for the Welcoming Feast, you even forgot what day it was, locked in the library all afternoon.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, ghosts and — most particularly — guests," said Dumbledore, beaming around at the foreign students. "I have great pleasure in welcoming you all to Hogwarts. I hope and trust that your stay here will be both comfortable and enjoyable-..."
One of the Beauxbatons girls still clutching a muffler around her head gave what was unmistakably a derisive laugh.
"No one's making you stay!" Hermione whispered, bristling at her at the Gryffindor table.
Suddenly a large sound echoed in the Great Hall, making some people jump on their seats. it cut Dumbledore in his speech as he looked at the doors.
The doors creaked open on you, as you pushed them with all your might. Then a heavy silence.
Right...
You had forgotten about the other school, about the feast, about everything in fact. You entered in that big silence, while some laughter echoed from your confused face. You grew a bit pink trying to not look too embarrassed with yourself. Quickly you rushed to the Gryffindor table and sat at the first spot available, not looking at who you sat next to. Your head was still high though, and you still displayed a confident attitude to everybody at the Feast. Inside ? You wanted to disappear. Dumbledore cleared his throat, he continued his speech distantly.
"Look what the wind brought in. A ghost from the past surely." sneered Fred next to George sat across you.
You froze and George straightened himself.
Great.
Angelina a few people up you, bended herself backwards to catch your attention.
"Where have you been ? I've searched for you all afternoon. "
