George's POV
George woke up from his brother's snoring on Sunday. A very bright light coming out of the window slapped his cheeks and blinded his eyes as he began to emerge from his sleep. Today was Sunday, the last day of Y/n's stay at the Burrow, then he would have to wait one week before seeing her at the Quidditch World Cup. Not that he counted of course... Yet, he felt a weird sensation in his stomach, or maybe was he just hungry. Yes, that was it, he needed breakfast. He got out of bed and headed downstairs. Immediately entering the kitchen, his eyes surveyed the room, looking for something, or someone.
'She's in the garden.' sang a voice.
His mother was standing next to the sink, waving a wand at the dishes while she cooked a pie at the same time. George looked right away through the window, but stopped himself embarrassed. He faked not to have understand.
'Who ?' he asked fakingly ignorant.
'Please. I'm your mother.' she turned to him. 'Plus, you're not very...let's just say it's a bit obvious to who pays attention.' she paused as George looked at her flabbergasted.' Well only to your father, Bill, Hermione, Ginny, and Charlie.'
'Only ?! How about Ron and Harry ?'
'They wouldn't even notice if I went missing. How could they notice you flirting ?'
'I am not flirting with Y/n !'
Molly turned slowly towards his son, with a grin that said everything. George sighted.
'We're finally beginning to be friends. That's what we are.' he said firmly. 'Plus she's Fred's girlfriend, almost.' explained George.
While he said his sentence his eyes were lost on the garden, where three girls were laughing laying in the grass. The wind was blowing a gentle breeze in her face, as the sun kissed her cheeks. The grass under her finger was slowly moving as she seemed to pet it absentmindedly. Her smile displayed heaven as her eyes showed the most wonderful colors. George never remembered the garden of the burrow being this beautiful.
'Oh you boys are so blind it's tiresome...'she sighed. 'She's very special.' said then Molly kindly.
'The most.' said George in a breath.
Molly carefully placed a hand on his shoulder, and hugged him while he let his head rest on hers, way lower, since she was way smaller.
'Your brother really likes her too you know.'
'Of course I know...'
'You should talk to him, admit your feelings to him. You know Fred might be interested her, but he's always been about action more, and you talking and thinking. He might just be caught in the fire of teenage romance, while I know you've always liked her.'
'Okay that's not true ! I have always loathed her, she's always been a competitive superficial popular talented at everything she does girl.'
Molly thought she wanted to scream at him but it was better they handled this situation by themself. It was part of teenage life after all.
'Go eat breakfast.' she just said while George stayed by the window looking at Y/n.
Later that day at lunch, he looked at Fred and Y/n talking, a deep hurt in his chest, he was incapable to see she only had eyes on him the whole meal. He was so focused on his brother he couldn't notice how she kept glimpsing at him. After lunch he went upstairs to work on a new product with Fred, both of them were very silent, very unusual for the twins. It was as if they knew, for the first time, that maybe they weren't agreeing on the same thing, or more that they wanted the same thing, separately.
