Chapter Ten-Free

I'm dedicating this chapter to my uncle.He passed away at midnight today (28th of august).Death is so funny.
One minute he was here making me laugh,cheering me up and the next minute he isn't.

"Alright Jessica you're good to go,make sure you take care of yourself"The doctor shook my hand.

My dad placed an arm over my shoulders and then both of us exited the hospital.

"You're grounded by the way"Mom said as soon as I sat inside the car.

"What? Why?!"I asked wide eyed.

"For driving recklessly.Did you not even think about what would happen to me and your father if something had happened to you?"

"I was on a call! I'm sorry!"

She shook her head and looked out of the window.

I let out a defeated sigh and then plugged my earphones in.

I texted Lilly to meet me at the pack house.

I looked out of the window.I just hoped my parents didn't ask me about who I was talking to and I also hoped they didn't punish Daniel.Knowing my dad,he would do anything insane when it came to my security and pride.

"The future that we hold is so unclear"I sang along with Selena.

Reminded me of Kyle to be honest.We were mates by destiny but what about our future? Will we be happy? Will dad give us his blessings? Will Kyle leave the mafia?

I face palmed myself.He isn't in the mafia Jessica! Get a hold of yourself.

The car stopped and I finally acknowledged the fact that we were now at the pack house.

Mom helped me out of the car.Dr Nina,the pack's doctor,came out of the front door and shook dad's hand.She came towards me and then gave me a bright smile.

"Hello Jessica,how are you holding up?"

"Pretty well I guess"I said sheepishly.

She laughed lightly."Alpha says that I should do a check up"

I looked at my dad."Why?"

"The humans treated you well but for my own satisfaction,I want Nina to check you out.Just to be safe"He said as he slid his hands inside his pockets.

I huffed."Fine"

She took my hand and then took me inside the pack house.I could see some members looking at us confusingly and some lookng at us worriedly.

"Why can't they stop staring?!"I mumbled as Dr.Nina laid me down on a bed.

"You're the Alpha's daughter.They care Jessica"

After some time,she had finished the check up and now was talking to my dad.

"Alright you're healthy as a horse,the broken bones are almost completely healed and well all you need is rest and motherly love!"She said looking at my mom.

Mom rolled her eyes but I could see her anger disappear.

A knock on the door diverted my attention.

Lilly bowed her head slightly.Dad nodded and then Lilly entered the room.

"My gosh Jess are you alright?"She immediately hugged me.

I hugged her back."I'm fine! Sheesh you people need to relax!"

"Daniel called me,he was crying on the phone! I thought his Xbox broke or something but then he started to go on about you and..."She pinched the bridge of her nose.

I waited for the taunt."You my dear are a disgrace to us racers! Couldn't you drive carefully?! Nobody told you to show your driving skills to the woods!"

Lilly and I usually raced when we were coming home from school or when we were out partying.It started with us two but soon a lot of pack members joined and then well we became a team.

"I was on a call"I sighed in defeat and continued to lay back down on the bed.

"Kyle?"She asked.

My eyes widened.I quickly looked at my parents,they were busy in talking with Nina to notice our talk.

I whacked Lilly upside the head and then quickly nodded.

"You two need to chill out! This much romance isn't good for health "

I looked at her stupidly.

Lilly rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly."Okay that was a stupid quote I read somewhere but seriously!"

"Can I leave now doc?"I asked.She nodded her head and then returned back to talking.

I grabbed Lilly's hand and dragged her out of the room.

"You're bruises healed up quickly"I said as I searched Lilly's face for any remaining bruises.

"Thank the doc,she helped me out"

My eyes widened."You didn't tell her anything about the incident did you?"

"Ofcourse not! She was asking though"

"And what did you say?"

"Nothing.Didn't reply"Both of us exited the pack house and sat down on a bench.

Some of the pack guys were training.Me and Lilly admired there skills while talking."I hope she doesn't question me about it"

Lilly shook her head."She won't"

"I'm really sorry though"

She frowned."Why?"

"I just feel like that everything that happened the other day is my fault"

"It's not and even if it was,it wouldn't have mattered.Shit happens"

I smiled and then rested my head on her shoulder.

"Hot guys are training infront of us and you decided to rest your head on my shoulder? They are going to think I'm lesbian!"Lilly whined.

"Shut up before I slap you"

"Fine!"

"How's Kyle?"Lilly asked.

"He's fine,was worried a bit though"A flashback of his worried look came in my mind.

"It's his fault anyway"

I slapped her arm.

"You two really love each other"She mumbled.

I nodded."When do I get to meet the unfortunate guy?"

"I'm not that bad you know!"

"Yeah yeah"

"I'll ask him.If he agrees,I'll bring you guys face to face"

She nodded.

I'm sorry for the short chapter.I'm only writing cause I promised you guys an update.I'm in no state to write.
