A/N - Thank you guys so much for the warm welcome back!
The paramedics took the body away on a stretcher.
Martha's family came running up to them.
"She's here. Oh, she's all right," Tish said. Tish hugged Martha.
"Ah, Mrs. Jones. We still haven't finished our chat..." the Doctor started.
Martha's mother slapped him. "Keep away from my daughter."
"Mum, what are you doing?" Martha asked.
"All of the mothers, every time," the Doctor muttered while Elise looked at his red cheek.
"He is dangerous. I've been told things," Martha's mother told her.
"What are you talking about?"
"Look around you. Nothing but death and destruction."
The ambulance drove away.
"This isn't his fault. He saved us, all of us!"
"And it was Tish who invited everyone to this thing in the first place. I'd say technically, it's her fault," Leo said.
Tish elbowed him.
There was a crashing sound.
The Doctor took off, Elise following him.
They found the ambulance.
The back door was open and there were bodies of the paramedics.
They looked just like Lady Thaw's body.
"Lazarus, back from the dead. Should have known, really," the Doctor said. He pulled out his screwdriver and scanned the area.
"Where's he gone?" Martha asked.
He pointed to a building. "That way. The church."
"Cathedral. It's Southwark Cathedral. He told me," Tish said.
The four of them entered the church.
"Do you think he's in here?" Martha asked.
"Where would you go if you were looking for sanctuary?" the Doctor asked her.
They walked towards the altar.
Lazarus was hidden behind it. He was shivering with the red blanket from the ambulance.
"I came here before, a lifetime ago. I thought I was going to die then. In fact, I was sure of it. I sat here, just a child, the sound of planes and bombs outside."
"The Blitz."
"You've read about it."
"I was there."
"Me too," Elise said.
The Doctor looked down at her.
"You're too young," Lazarus said.
"So are you," the Doctor told him.
Lazarus laughed. Then shuddered as his body made cracking noises. "In the morning, the fires had died, and I was still alive. I swore I'd never face death like that again. So defenseless. I would arm myself, fight back, defeat it."
"That's what you were trying to do today?"
"That's what I did today."
"What about the other people who died?"
