Chapter 2: Day After

It was Friday. The day after the party I was on edge, and thankfully no hangover and I must admit for a few seconds I had seconds thoughts, but Jimmy said it was just a friendly date, so there was no harm, right?

The rest of Friday I just sat around in sweatpants and a hoody, for sometime I'd listen to some music, and then I'd watch some tv, I still didn't receive any text messages from Jimmy, I did hope we were still on for tomorrow, my mind racing around thoughts I grabbed my phone off the table and I decided to send Jimmy a text message

Jimmy, its Y/N. We met at Higgins party? Just wanted to see if we were still on for tomorrow?

I let out a long sigh, and threw my phone down on the couch, turning my TV off I put my music back on, cant beat Michael Jackson on a Friday evening! I began dancing to Smooth Criminal when my phone started buzzing, I quickly picked my phone up off the couch, a message from Higgins

Wanted to say thanks again for coming to the party last night!

smiled at the text but felt disheartened, I wonder if Jimmy changed his mind, or regrets arranging the date in the first place. I let out another sigh and I sat back on the couch laying down

I heard a knock at the front door, did I fall asleep? I stood up quickly - a bit too quickly because I felt slightly dizzy, rubbed my eyes and walked to the door and opened it. Before me stood Jimmy, wearing a pair of jeans and a black and white plaid shirt that was opened up the top revealing a bit of his chest, sunglasses and a cap

"Uh hi? How did you know where I lived?" I said studying him closely. He wore a smile on his lips, damn that smile

Jimmy chuckled nervously, "Well.." he stepped a bit closer, so close I could smell his aftershave "I asked Higgins for it. I hope it was okay for me to uh, show up like this, I just.." he began to rub the back of his neck nervously "I just wanted to see you" he smiled

I smiled back and nodded, again no guy has ever shown complete interest in me so I was confused by Jimmy's actions. I stepped aside and allowed him to enter the house

"I thought you changed your mind about me when you didn't answer my message" I said as we walked into the living room, I quickly turned the music down so it wasn't too loud that it could cause you hearing loss but not too quiet that you could hear your hungry stomach growling, or in my case, my very fast and loud heart beat

"No of course I didn't change my mind about you, what would you have said if I had asked if I could come here to hang out with you?" he asked taking a seat on my leather chair "by the way, this is nice and comfy" he said reclining the chair back

"I would have said yes and thanks it was a gift from Higgins" I said as I too went to sit back down on the couch opposite him

5 awkward minutes of silence passed, I was a bit nervous about what to say, I didn't feel nervous being around Jimmy, I just had no idea what to say to this man

"I'm sorry" Jimmy said finally breaking me out of my stance "I shouldn't have turned up like this, I'm sorry" he stood up to leave but I grabbed his arm

"Jimmy it's fine, really. I was just surprised but you're here now so please, stay." I released his arm

Jimmy smiled, locking eyes with his brown eyes sent me in a daze, for a moment it felt like he was looking straight into my soul, he was a very handsome funny guy, and I remember in his past interviews he would beat himself down on his looks and weight, was it only women who could see how perfect he really was?

I smiled at my thoughts and cleared my throat, "so what do you wanna do? I have beer in the fridge and....movies?" I pointed towards a closed unit that held my movies. Jimmy also cleared his throat and looked shy "sure sounds cool pal, I'll pick a movie" he walked towards the unit and I went to the kitchen to get the beer for him, and I had cola

The movie Jimmy picked for us was Risky Business. I loved this movie, for the fact it has a very sexy Tom Cruise in it. "I love Tom" I said taking a sip from my can and giggling at his underpants dance scene, I felt Jimmy's eyes on me and looked towards him and smiled

"He's a great actor" Jimmy agreed

After the movie had finished Jimmy had to head home, "Jimmy I'm really glad you came over today" we walked over to the front door, Jimmy turned to face me and held out both of his arms, I chuckled and accepted the hug, I got a closer smell of his scent, he smelt so fresh and clean and his arms made me feel safe

We pulled away from the hug, I placed a quick peck on his check and smiled "Thanks for the hug" I said as I passed him his cap and sunglasses

"Thanks for the peck" Jimmy winked placing his sunglasses on "I'll pick you up about 8pm tomorrow evening, wear something smart" he said leaving the house, he turned around smiled and waved, which I returned both. I closed the door slowly and slid down the door bringing my knees to my chest

It was definitely a new thought that crossed my mind, I was attracted to Jimmy and developing a big crush on him.

I smiled at my thoughts of a date with him tomorrow, I couldn't wait!

Jimmy's POV:
I walked back to my apartment, the whole walk I couldn't stop thinking about her, I haven't been so attracted since my wife Nancy left 2 months ago. I couldn't wait for our date night tomorrow.

I walked into the Gramercy building and took an elevator up to my apartment, placing my keys in the drawer next to the front door

I gave Gary a fuss and grabbed a beer from the fridge and started playing with Gary, "she's a great girl"
