My Soldier

Chapter 9

I was awaken by the smell of something burning I also noticed I was in a bedroom. I quickly got up to search for Deshaun I made my way down the hallway I turn to the kitchen to see Deshaun fanning smoke out of his face. "Are you okay?"I asked with concern "Yeah I'm good I was just tryna make you breakfast since it's your first morning here." I could tell he was a little embarrassed by the way he had his head down. "Thanks but , I think it'll be safer if I make breakfast. " I chuckled "Oh so you got jokes now?" He asked with a playful smirk I shook my head at his silliness and started to cook breakfast.

It didn't take long for me to finish cooking I sat both plates full of pancakes , eggs and bacon on the table. Deshaun looked like he hadn't ate in years by the way he kept staring at his plate. By time I was halway through my plate he was already done he just sat in his chair staring at me I just looked downward at TV my plate and kept eating. "You know you're beautiful right?"he asked which made me think. I couldn't really answer him I don't really think of myself as "beautiful" to be honest. I heard him leave the kitchen "Come on lets get dressed. " he said I just nodded still in a daze from the question he asked. I walked into his bathroom to see he already had a toothbrush for me. I looked into the mirror replaying the question in my head "am I beautiful? "

We were in the car on our to wherever I asked him where we were going but he told it was surprise. I hate surprises but, I just enjoyed the ride. We soon pull up to a mall parking lot I turn to look at him giving him a questioning look. "Since you're living with me I'm buying you some new clothes. " he said "I can go pick up some clothes from my house" I replied " No you're not because I don't want you going over the getting hurt again Cam." I let out a frustrating sigh and got out of the car. I headed towards the entrance of the mall I soon felt a pair of arms wrap around me "Don't be mad at me. " he plead " I'm not mad I just don't want you spending to much money on me." He nodded in response before grabbing my hand pulling me into Dtlr.

We were almost done shopping we walking to the food court suddenly I here the sound of my name being yelled.
"Cam!" I turned around to see that it was Kira I hadn't spoken to her in a while.

She ran up to me and gave one of the tightest hugs you could ever imagine.

"Um Kira I can't breathe. " I weezed out. She finally let me go allowing me to get my breath back.

"I missed yo light skin ass you barely even talk to me anymore. like what is goin on what the tea?" She asked
"Sorry I've just been going through a lot. "

"Well hun then we need to catch up." She said pulling me towards the food court.

She quickly sat us both down a table "So what's been goin on?"

I quickly told her everything that went on from our first date till now. I couldn't read the look on her face it was full of so many emotions.

"Cam you need to tell him." She said with a serious tone.

"I know I should but I just feel embarrassed like it's my fault. "

"Honey none of this is your fault but, you do need to let Deshaun know. "

"Let me know what? " we both turned around to see Deshaun with a confused look on his face.

Kira and I both shared a glance at each other I was hoping she would come with a lie but before I could say anything she beat me to it.

"Oh yeah Cam wanted to tell you how much he appreciates everything you do and how he wants to make it up to you." She said with a evil smirk all I could do was sit in shock this has completely lost her mind!

"Umm I'm gonna go get sum food." He said before leaving I quickly turned back around to Kira "Are you crazy now he's going to think I wanna have sex with him!" I whisper yelled.

"Uh well duh cuz ya do."she said matter of factly

"Well actually I don't well, at least not right now!"

"Oh calm down you guys are probably not gonna even do it buuuttt, if you do can you tell me how good it was?"

"Ew Kira no we're not having sex until im ready and if we do I'm definitely not telling you. "

"Ugh your no fun." She said letting out an exhausted sigh something is truly wrong with that girl.

"Where are we going now?" I asked again for the third time during the drive.

"I already told you it's another surprise. " he said keeping his eyes on the road .

"What is it with you and surprises?"

"Im not really sure I just like to be unpredictable. " he said with a smirk.

"That was soooo corny." I giggled

"Oh now you really got jokes huh?" He said trying to hold in a smile.

"Maybe maybe not." I said still laughing.

"Oh aight I got somethin for that." He said with a mischievous smirk on his face. He's always up to something.

After a few minutes of me still asking him to tell me where we're going we finally parked the car. We both walked to a beautiful building that reads the Getty Center it was stunning. The art work was so different each piece was so unique it was like a breath of fresh it wss like each painting or statue told a story. We go to take a look at the garden outside everything looked so natural and beautiful it looked like something out of a fantasy movie. It felt like I was in a whole other place. I slowly came to a stop as I saw the most magnificent view I've ever seen it was two big bouquets of flowers that stood like trees they were just so stunning. I felt Deshaun slip something into my hand I looked down to see it was a silver IPhone six. I looked up at him in astonishment.

"Thank you so much! " I squealed jumping up to hug him catching a lot of people's attention. I quickly got down and pulled him towards the flowers. I turned on the phones camera and gave it to him since he was taller then reached up on my tippy toes and kissed him on the lips as he took the picture. I took the phone back to look at the picture I look up to see Deshaun grinning at with admiration in his eyes. I quickly gave him a peck on the cheek as i grabbed his hand as we made our way in the garden stopping to ttake pictures of everything. We were back in the car I looked at every picture we took I noticed the same thing in everyone my smile I hadn't seen it in a while I feel better knowing that I finally found something that makes me happy.
