A Day At a Time

The irritating sound of her alarm wakes Ellie up, she sits up in bed and gazes at the male model fast asleep besides her. She puts her head in her hands and contemplates how last night even happened. It felt like yesterday that Ellie was almost at the point of tears when meeting Dougie at her first McFly concert. Now here he is under the sheets in her bed.

"Dougie, Dougie wake up I have to leave for the studio in an hour." Ellie whispers in his ear, she places a kiss on his cheek and begins to get ready.

Dougie starts to stretch as he wakes up. He sits up and looks at Ellie getting dressed in the corner of the room. Dougie playfully throws a pillow at Ellie

"Oi cheeky" she says and smirks.

Ellie then slowly walks over to Dougie with the pillow behind her back. Dougie reaches over the bed to get another pillow ready for her to make a move. Ellie jumps onto the bed on top of Dougie and they start to have a pillow fight.

Dougie then hits Ellie's pillow out of her hands. Ellie laughs and takes Dougie's pillow and drops it next to the bed. He pulls her in for a kiss and then stare into each other eyes and smile. Ellie lays her head onto his chest, both still laughing. He warps his arms round her and hugs her tightly, then gently kisses her forehead.

"I wish I didn't have to work today." Says Ellie

"Do you really have to go the studio, you were there all day yesterday and Tuesday. Cant it wait till next week?" He asks her.

She looks up at Dougie and pouts "I would really love to spend the day with you, but I've delayed this album for far too long if I prolong the wait any longer the GDs are going to start to get pissed off."

"The GDs, why would McFly fans start to get pissed off?" Dougie questions.

"The McFly Fans?" Ellie asked confused.

"Yeah the galaxy defenders, that's what they call themselves but shortened it to GD." Dougie explains.

"Oh no!" Ellie laughs. "My fans call them Goulddiggers, but also shortened it to GD"

They both laugh.

"Did you come up with GD, because you're a McFly fan yourself?" Dougie asks giggling.

"Actually my fans came up with it themselves, but I actually love it even more now you've said that." Ellie gets off the bed and goes downstairs into the kitchen to make breakfast. While Dougie gets dressed. He looks into his bag and sees Danny's addition to the bag and smirks

"Guess you were right Danny" he says to himself.

*A few days later*

Ellie checks her phone to see has got a text from Hannah

'Sorry Ells' I can't go to the game this weekend. I know its last minute but I just can't make it'

Ellie is slightly frustrated at first. But then she has an idea. Maybe Dougie will like to go to the game. She quickly sends a text to Doug

'Are u free this weekend to go to the basketball game at O2? Xxx'

She smiles then realises what it means if he says yes. This would mean there first outing together in public. What will people think? Dougie is at home when he receives the text message

'Sure that sounds great. Meet you at yours at 5 ish? Xxx'

'Great xx' replies Ellie.

She smiles and then rushes to her room to decide what she will wear Saturday night.

*4:50pm Saturday*

Ellie just finished sorting out her hair and make-up when she hears a knock on the door. She grabs her bag and opens the door to see Dougie standing there.

"Hello my lovely lady"

Ellie smiled "Hello Douglas"

They then both got into Dougie's car and set off to the O2 arena.

The O2 arena is packed with paparazzi and other celebrities. Ellie and Dougie find their seats next to Cara Delevingne.

"Omg hey Elle I haven't seen you in so long." Cara says as she hugs Ellie.

"Aw ive missed you so much"

Dougie leaves Ellie and Cara to catch up whilst he gets the drinks. He walks up the bar when he hears a familiar voice "No it can't be" he says to himself. He turns around and sees Frankie behind him with her husband. They share an awkward glance as Dougie tries to rush past with drinks.

"Dougie I hope those don't all belong to you" Frankie laughs.

"No actually I'm nearly 3 years sober, these are for errr some friends." He replies.

"Well it's nice seeing that you're doing great, see ya around Doug"

"Yeah, bye Frankie."

Dougie walks away carrying Ellie and Cara drinks relieved that was over.

"Ladies! Drinks are served." Dougie says as he passes them their drinks

"Thank you Doug"

"Yeah thank you Dougie" Ellie and Cara smile.

"Erm, I saw you with Frankie back there, is everything ok?" Ellie asked concerned.

"Yeah it's fine, I just haven't seen her in forever that was the most awkward moment of my life."

The players start lining up on the court and Ellie starts to watch the game fascinated, Dougie rests his hand on Ellie's knee.

"Doug I don't think I want the paps and media to know we're together just yet, like the longer we say we're friends the more privacy we're gonna get."

Dougie nods and moves his hand from her knee.

"Yeah I can't stand them either, let's just act like friends while the cameras are around, see how long we can drag this out for."

The players go in for half time the kiss cam starts to go through the crowd. Ellie and Dougie look up at the screen to see which unfortunate couple would show up on the screen.

Cara nudges Ellie "Shit Ells look the camera is coming this way."

She turns to Cara "What?!"

Ellie panics but it's too late she looks back up at the screen to see her and Dougie.

"Oh fuck!" Dougie says laughing "Well that plan didn't last too long" Dougie mumbles under his breath.

The crowd start to chant "KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS."

Cara pushes Ellie into Dougie, "Yeah c'mon you two love birds KISS"

Ellie and Dougie burst out laughing. Ellie quickly covers her face with her hands! Dougie is sat next to her laughing still looking at the screen with Ellie and his face on it for the whole stadium to see. He starts to blush. The camera doesn't leave them, the crowd still chanting "KISS"! Finally the screen moves to someone else. Dougie moves closer to Ellie

"Its ok, they are gone now." Dougie said still laughing!

Ellie finally moves her hands

"Fuck sake! I can't believe that just happened." Ellie said. Her face was completely red from embarrassment! "I am so sorry Dougie" Ellie says putting her face into her hands again.

"What for?" he said calming down now.

"Ive just completely ruined the whole night" she mumbled in her hands.

"It's not your fault. People are just dicks and think its ok to get into celebs business. Don't worry about it" He said reassuring her.

Ellie sighs "I bet you anything we do together now the paps are gonna be all over it"

Dougie places his hand on her knee. "Don't worry Ells, if those pricks think they can invade our privacy they got another thing coming."

Ellie rests her head in the crook of Dougie's neck as they continue to watch the rest of the game.
