When we made it home, I wheeled Levi up the stairs of our cabin. It wasn't easy to get him back home with him not able to walk, but it was worth every second. He was quiet the entire way, but his eyes were always on me, a solemn reminder that my love was in there even after all this time. As soon as we made it inside, I could hear our daughter crying. I kissed Levi on the cheek and told him to stay put as I walked into her nursery to see my mom trying to console her.

As soon as Mom laid her eyes on me she smiled softly. "You're home..." I only nodded as I picked my baby girl from her arms. "Hi, pretty lady," I lulled softly and she immediately perked up, her tears suddenly disappearing. "I have someone I want you to meet." My mom looked at me with an even softer smile.

I bounced our daughter on my hip as I walked to the front door where Levi sat idly by, and when I turned the corner his head was down, his eye far away.
{Levi's POV}
I could hear my daughter screaming from the other room, and I felt it in my bones. All I could hear was the screams of the children under the Titan feet. It echoed in my brain over and over. The cries of pain and despair. The wails of fear. The carnage. The-
{Mercy's POV}
"Levi..." I said softly as I took careful steps toward him. He only stared at his lap. "Levi," I said more firmly and he lifted his head as if forgetting I was there. He stared at me until his eyes panned downward to look at the baby in my arms, and they widened. I could see the fear, the love and the longing in them all at once as he swallowed and pushed his chair forward slightly. "Hi..." he greeted calmly, awkwardly, and I only smiled. She stared at him curiously, her head bobbing as she dealt with its weight. "This is your Daddy," I whispered in her ear and she kicked her feet slightly. Even though she had no idea who he was, I would always tell her that she would love her Daddy, so she knew the word was something exciting.
