I reached the Underground just a few hours before sunset. It made it easier to sneak in past the Inner City guards so I was relieved about that. They were in the middle of a shift change when I found my chance and slipped right past them.

The tunnel to the Underground was crumbled by the Female Titan's feet during her altercation with Eren so it wasn't easy getting in. There was a lot of rubble and debris I had to climb through, but I finally made it. My skin riddled with goosebumps the moment the stuffy air of the subterranean city hit my nose. I remembered it all too well. The mildew scent and the humidity was enough to make my stomach turn. I remembered how everything smelled that way. My house, my clothes, my hair. I hated it, but I tried not to think about it too much.

Ever since my cycles went missing my sense of smell seemed to be heightened, so naturally the scent of the Underground turned my stomach for multiple reasons. I used my ODM gear to repel down the side of the wall, trying my best to be quiet as my feet hit the ground. I looked around. Everything was quiet. It was a stark contrast to the Underground I remembered. Even though I was confined to my house, I could still hear the bustling of people and the steps in the alleyways. There was always something going on outside my door whether it was a fight or just a group of people walking along, but instead of being met with commotion and commute I was met with quietness. It sent a chill down my spine. I weaved through the alleyways being sure not to bring any attention to myself, even though my all black outfit definitely would have. I headed toward my old house.
