I looked up and saw those beautiful eyes. They made my heart melt. She stared at me as if she were waiting for something.
I closed my mouth. "O-oh me?" I stuttered while pointing at myself, and looking behind me.
"Yes you." She giggled. Oh kill me, that giggle.
"Umm, I was just talking to myself, you know. Self persuasion for straight point focus." I looked around, obviously looking for something to say.
"Oh." Her healthy pink lips formed an O. "Well I do the same." She smiled.
I felt my face heat up, I swear if I could see myself I probably look like Chris's zit when he struck puberty. I don't know if I'm hallucinating or not,but I could spot a small tinge of pink on her face.
The heavens above are freaking blessing me with this beautiful creature right now. She looked so cute.
Honestly, right now, I'm frozen, paralyzed, completely baffled that I actually talked to her.
Okay, now all I gotta do is ask her. No big deal, nothing to lose. Well if she accepts, we get to go and eat a burger, plus we get to watch Brandi stuff her face.
And if she rejects me, I'll probably shut down and cry. Embarrassing myself and her. I'd go home and never see the light of day. Stuck in an endless gray of utter despair and pain.
Heart ache would be often and I'll never make a living, I would be a disappointment, and no body would want me. Meaning I'll die alone.
Nothing to lose at all. Rapid voices spoke in my head.
"Are you okay Ben?" She said, concerned. "You know my name?" I replied, trying to change the fact that I had a forced smile on my face.
"Of course, grade A student since elementary, also we went to the same schools ever since we were little." She leaned in.
I can't believe she remembers all those things, all those moments. She remembered them. I always thought she was focusing on other things than her surroundings.
"Plus, I remember that you nearly choked on a spoonful of pudding when we were in kindergarten." She laughed.
"Hey, it's not my fault that spoons are dangerous." I defended for myself.
"Oh yeah, especially when they're stuck in your throat." She nodded then resumed laughing. Her hearty sweet laugh made my heart flutter.
"Would you like to go to that burger joint near school with me?" The words flew out of my mouth. She stopped laughing and faced me with a confused look.
"What?" She asked.
I panicked. She was waiting for an answer. "I-I was j-just wondering if y-you would like to go grab a bite at the new burger joint near school?" I tried my best to be calm.
My words fumbled out of my mouth. "Seriously?" She sounded surprised.
"I-it's okay if you got plans! I mean I could always go alone. I mean I'm not gonna be alone, I'm going to go with my friends, but it's alright if you have plans with your friends." I spoke rapidly, not giving any room for her.
"I'd love to." She said. "You'd love to what?" I asked.
"Aha, I'd love to go to lunch with you. I mean, I probably need a change of pace. You know, hang out with other people." She gave her signature smile.
"S-so you want to hang out?" My voice literally croaked.
"Yes." She grinned.
"It's a date then!" I nearly shouted. She only laughed lightly.
"Sure." Her small blush grew.
I grabbed her hand and ran out as soon as the bell rang, catching the bus on a short ride to meet up with Chris.
