Nick Fury's Clone

Chapter 5

A few months later, Natasha and Clint helped Josephina pack her stuff. They were taking her to the SHIELD Helicarrier. The kids were sad that Aunt Jo had to leave, but they were also excited for her. She was going to get to work with Natasha and Clint. Clint put Josephina's stuff in the trunk of the Jeep. Everyone exchanged good-byes.

"We'll miss you, Aunt Jo," Cooper said.

"I'll miss you too," Aunt Jo said, "but I'll be back to visit soon."

Cooper smiled. He and Lila gave Aunt Jo big hugs. She walked towards the Jeep and climbed into the back. Clint took the wheel and Natasha took the passenger's seat. They waved good-bye once more, then took off.

They arrived at the Helicarrier in less than an hour. Before they docked, Clint rolled up the windows and put up the roof. When they docked, Nick Fury was waiting for them.

"Wait here until we tell you it's safe to some out," Natasha said.

"Welcome back, you two," he said as Clint and Natasha got out of the car. "I hope you had a nice trip."

"It was full of surprises," Clint said with a smile. "We even brought something back that you might want to see."

"Oh really?"

Natasha smiled and walked over to Josephina's door. She opened and whispered that it was safe to come out. She stepped back, allowing Josephina some room. Josephina stepped out of the Jeep and closed the door. She looked at Fury. She remembered their first encounter. Apparently, so did he. He whipped out his shotgun and aimed it at her. She took a small step back, worried he would shoot.

"Easy, Fury," Clint said. "Put that thing away." Fury kept his eye on Josephina, but did not put his gun away. "Director Fury, please stand down."

Fury glanced at Clint then back at Josephina. She held her breath, unsure what would happen. Fury slipped his gun back into its holster. He looked at Hawkeye.

"I'm going to want an explanation, Barton," he said. He turned and walked away.

"That went smoothly," Josephina said.

"Give him time," Natasha said. "For now, let's get you settled in."

They gathered their bags and showed Josephina to an empty room. Once her bags were in her room, they took her to the control room. There, they found SHIELD agents working computers. Maria Hill, the assistant director of SHIELD, walked up to the group.

"Welcome back, agents," she said. She looked at Josephina. "Who's this?"

"Maria, this is Josephina," Natasha said. She lowered her voice and whispered in Maria's ear. "She's Director Fury's clone."

Maria looked surprised, but that quickly passed. She shook hands with Josephina.

"It's great to have you on board," she said.

"Thank you," Josephina said.
