Nick Fury's Clone

Chapter 11

Fury opened the door to the power generator. When he stepped inside, he saw HYDRA agents laying on the ground. Not far away was Josephina battling a woman with green hair. Fury pulled out his handgun and made his way towards the two. Josephina caught a glimpse of Fury and stared at him. The woman kicked her back into one of the power cables and looked at Fury.

"Well well," she said. "Director Fury. I was hoping to meet you."

Fury did not reply, but kept his gun focused on her. The woman began to walk towards him. Josephina got to her feet and ran at the woman, who spun around before Josephina could land a punch. The two continued their fight. Josephina grabbed the woman's hand and pulled her arm behind her back.

"What are you doing here?" Josephina asked Fury.

"I wasn't about to let you blow up my ship," Fury replied.

"You think I would do that? I don't have enough power to do that."

"Isn't this cute?" the woman said. "The clone is arguing with the one she was made to destroy."

Josephina gripped her hand even harder. She spun the woman around and threw her into a pile of crates that sat nearby. Josephina, breathing hard, looked at Fury.

"Who was that?" he asked.

"Madame HYDRA," Josephina replied. "HYDRA's top agent and Strucker's right-hand."

"What was their plan?"

"They wanted to sink the Helicarrier. Why do you think they came to its source?"

Fury did not reply. He put his hand to his ear and contacted Maria.

"How's the HYDRA situation, Hill?" he asked.

"HYDRA agents in the weapons vault are down and on their ways to the cells. We have jets still in the air taking care of the planes."

"Look out!" Josephina suddenly shouted.

She pushed Fury to the ground. When he looked up at her, part of her sleeve was gone and her skin was ripped and bleeding. Madame HYDRA picked up Josephina's second sword and threw it again. It sliced through Josephina's leg. Josephina fell to her knees, groaning in pain. She looked up at Madame HYDRA who was walking towards her. She bent down and grabbed Josephina's shirt.

"Hail HYDRA," she said.

She let go of Josephina, who began to shake.

"What did you do to me?" Josephina asked.

"HYDRA made sure there was a way to shut you down if you ever went rogue. Why do you think we were always careful not to say those two precious words? They are your shut-down switch. You only have an hour to live."

Fury stood up and knocked Madame HYDRA to the ground, knocking her out cold. He bent down and helped Josephina sit up. She was shaking and turning pale. She looked up at him and saw a glimmer of fear in his one eye.

"It's okay," she gasped. "I'm be fine."

She coughed. Fury put his hand to his ear.

"I need Dr. Cho in the infirmary," he said. "I'll be right up."

Fury picked Josephina up in his arms, putting her one arm around his neck. He carried her out of the room as SHIELD agents hurried in to take care of the HYDRA agents.
