Nick Fury's Clone

Chapter 6

For the next few weeks, Josephina woke up early to train with Natasha and some of the other SHIELD agents. She began to make friends and get used to being around more people. In the afternoons she would Skype with the Barton's, always checking in with them. She was always happy to see their smiling faces.

Nick Fury tried to avoid Josephina as much as he could. He didn't trust her; especially since she had attacked him. He was waiting for her to do something that would prove that she still worked for HYDRA, but she did nothing. She obeyed orders given to her by the higher ranking agents and it seemed like all the other agents enjoyed her company.

One day, Natasha was training with Josephina, teaching her new skills. Fury walked silently into the room and watched the two. After a few minutes, he cleared his throat. The two stopped fighting and looked at him.

"I'd like to have a minute alone, Agent Romanoff," he said.

Natasha nodded, smiled at Josephina, and walked past Fury and out of the room. Josephina looked at Nick Fury, almost afraid of what he was going to do. She knew he didn't approve of her being on his ship. Director Fury walked towards her. He stopped a few feet away.

"I must say," he said, "that you have become very successful while you've been here."

"Thank you," Josephina said nervously.

"I'll be honest with you. When you first arrived here, I thought that Agents Romanoff and Barton were crazy. But I've seen how they trust you." Josephina looked at the ground, wishing she weren't there. "And I said to myself earlier today: why can't I?"

Josephina stared at Fury. He smiled slightly. Suddenly, the ground shook, throwing the two off their feet. Fury put his hand to his ear.

"What was that!?" he shouted.

"We're under attack, sir," Maria said through his earpiece.

"By who?"

"Scanners read the jets as HYDRA."

Fury looked at Josephina.

"I'll be up in two minutes," he said.

Fury stood up and grabbed Josephina by the arm. He pulled her out of the room and down the halls to the detention center. Fury opened a cell and threw Josephina in.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"I don't need a HYDRA spy running around on my ship," Fury said.

He quickly locked the cell door and left her.
