Chris's POV
"Jesus." Jakob exhaled once Ethan had finally slammed the door, "That must of been one pretty heavy relationship."
"Did he ever mention anything about Jamie to you?" I asked once I was certain Ethan was gone.
Jakob shook his head, indicating that he knew nothing.
The two of us had only known Ethan for about a year or so now, but most of the time he seemed quite open and willing to conversation. He'd talked about a few things in his past life in Geelong, but never at any point had mentioned anything about a girlfriend- well besides Emma.
This made me curious as to whether he was hiding anything else from Jakob and I.
Knock, knock.
Jakob smirked obviously thinking the same thing as me- that Ethan had finally cooled down and decided to come back. Jakob approached the door swung and swung it wide open, "Well look who's returne- hang on, what the heck are you doing here!?"
I looked up suddenly curious and walked over to the door to suddenly realise Jakob's confusion.
Jamie was standing there, dripping head to toe from the rain that was currently pouring outside. Although she was wearing a hoodie and jeans, she was shivering from the coldness that had developed. "Can I come in?" She asked, automatically walking inside without even waiting for our approval.
"Gee, you didn't even have to ask." I retorted sarcastically.
"Is Ethan here?" She asked, ignoring my comment.
"He just left." Jakob informed, still eyeing Jamie with suspicion.
Jamie lowered her head in disappointment. It was obvious that she wanted to have a one-on-one conversation with Ethan but he for some reason he seemed not at all keen to even make eye contact with her, and just bringing up her name was enough to set him off.
I finally took the opportunity to get a good look at Jamie. I'd only briefly talked to her today just as I was leaving school, but I hadn't looked at her so intently as I did now. I wasn't normally one to judge from appearance but she was undeniably beautiful. Her darkish, brown hair surrounded her face perfectly which matched the colour of her gorgeous eyes. And there was something about her presence too- it just gave me a natural, heart-warming feel.
Well to strictly speak the truth here, I can understand completely if Ethan didn't hesitate to date this girl.
Realising I'd been staring at Jamie for too long, I turned my attention to the window where the rain was continuing to spit down heavily outside.
A strange silence passed in the room, between Jakob, Jamie and I. All that could be heard was the howling wind outside and the humming sound of the dripping rain.
"I'm still convinced you're some crazy kind of stalker." I joked to ease the tension in the room, only to earn an annoyed glare from Jamie.
"Yeah, how did you even know that we'd be here?" Jakob folded his arms, with a cocky sort of grin on his face.
"You two really like to push it with questions don't you?" She growled, running her hands through her wet, tangled hair.
I put down the guitar I was still holding gently down the ground, "Well Jamie, you just randomly pop up to the studio knowing our exact location and whereabouts, which gives me a reasonable enough validation to ask you how on earth you managed to find us."
"I asked Emma." Jamie said bluntly, taking off her dripping wet hoodie.
"Wow, you're resourceful." Jakob chuckled.
