Jakob's POV

Game one of the season. I was more pumped then ever.

Everything in my life just seemed to be very fulfilled and busy at the moment... But I liked that. There wasn't any room to be feeling tired or bored because life just seemed to be hitting everyone with more chaos each day.

Today at school had just been as I'd imagined. Ethan and Chris had not said a word to one another. And like many occasions, I was stuck between the both of them.

Ethan had pretty much been quiet the whole morning, but once he had a bit of alone time with me he literally had a 20 minute one-way conversation of everything that was going on his head.

"Why did Jamie not kiss me?"

"Why did Jamie kiss Chris?"

"Why did Chris kiss Jamie?"

"Are Chris and Jamie dating?"

"Does Emma hate me now?"

"Have I been a bad boyfriend?"

"What is the point of living?"

"What does the word life even mean?"

"Hey Ethan..." I jumped in before he could say anymore.

"Yeah?" He questioned, allowing himself to take a long heavy breath after minutes on end without breathing.

"Could you do me a favour?" I asked politely.

"Yeah?"

"Please shut up."

Ethan scowled for a quick second, but then the scowl eventually turned apologetic. "Sorry I don't know what's going on with me lately." He admitted quietly. "It's just I can't figure out why I'm feeling all over the place and doing stupid and reckless things. And all these people are starting to make speculations and stuff between Jamie and I... I don't want Emma to find out."

"Just ignore that stuff. You got better things to worry about like this afternoon's game and X factor rehearsals."

"Yeah you're right." Ethan nodded solemnly.

"Please don't let any of this get in the way between you and Chris." I spoke sternly, looking Ethan directly on the eyes. There has been quite a few disputes that had gotten between them recently, and I was really growing sick of it.

But yet as soon as I said the words I knew it was too good to be true.

Ethan didn't say anything and walked off without any warning. I stood there in the middle of the school corridor as people rushed past wondering why things like this had to be left unsettled and so complicated. Although my life seemed hectic at the moment, other times I just wondered why life couldn't-just be simple and drama free?

"He doesn't seem to be in a good mood."

As soon as I heard the most beautiful and angelic voice, I immediately knew who was speaking.

"Isabelle." I breathed out her name feeling a large lump in my throat beginning to grow.

"Sorry I don't mean to be nosy or anything but is Ethan okay?" She asked, looking genuinely sincere and concerned for Ethan's wellbeing.
