Ethan's POV

We were swarmed with people when the three of us arrived together at Emma's party. I kind of figured this would be more than a small gathering. There was at least fifty or more people here. Even one hundred. Probably more than my liking since I wasn't particularly in a real talkative mood at the moment.

To be honest, I didn't really want to come especially since I knew that Jamie was here.
But of course, I couldn't say no to Emma.

She was always so considerate and kind towards me, and the way her eyes sparkled when she pleaded me to come... How could I not say no?

And then there was Jamie.

That girl made my head spin. And I wasn't actually sure if it was a good or a bad thing.

The other afternoon when my mum had invited her over I had almost confessed to loving her all over again, but she'd left before I had even had the chance to finish my sentence.

It was probably a blessing that we'd been interrupted by a call on her phone because if I actually got round to explaining my feelings for her, she'd probably hate me more and I'd muck things up with Emma.

I didn't want to stuff things up with Emma. I didn't want to be labelled as a cheater. I was just still so conflicted with my emotions, I wasn't sure what I really wanted.

Maybe tonight was the night to find out.

Emma's house was no ordinary house. It was extremely large since her dad was like a millionaire and invested in several properties.
It had large brick pavement outside that went on for several metres until you finally reached the door.

Inside it was like a maze with five storeys and several rooms you could seriously get lost and never come out alive. I'd been over to her house quite a few times now, but I never not gawk over how amazing the features of the house were. It was honestly incredible.

I hugged Emma once we arrived at the door and kissed her gently on the cheek. She was wearing a bright red dress that fell just above her knees and had her blonde hair out in loose, wavy curls that bounced around her shoulders. And standing next to her was Jamie.

I unintentionally found myself staring at Jamie, who was also wearing a dress, which didn't really seem like her usual style of clothing. It was a soft, blue colour that was tight on her hips and revealed her slightly olive coloured skin. I tried to bring my eyes elsewhere, but they refused to move.

"You look beautiful." I mumbled, staring at Jamie.

"Aww, thank you Ethan!" Emma wrapped her arms around my neck for a quick hug.

Huh, what the heck was that Ethan!? My subconscious practically yelled at me. I scratched the back of my neck nervously as I looked at the ground embarrassed. That comment was supposed to be directed at Emma rather than Jamie, but thankfully Emma had just assumed it was for her.

Why had I all of a sudden taken interest to Jamie again? Emma looked undeniably gorgeous, there was no question about that. Curse my stupid emotions.

Jakob, Chris and I walked inside to where the music was blaring out of loud speakers.

"Now this is what I call a party." Jakob grinned gleefully as he pressed his palms together.
