Jamie's POV

"I seriously don't get why your so keen on walking me home in this weather." I yelled as loudly as I could over the deafening rain, hoping that Chris would hear.

"I told you, I just wanna make sure you're alright and get home safely." He yelled back, looking directly at me. Something about his light brown eyes made me feel like I could trust him. But then again, I thought I could trust Ethan with anything yet now he wouldn't even talk to me...

"That's sweet and all, but I can look after myself Chris." I said, blinking a few times to get all the water of my eyelids.

My face was so numb and hollow from the coldness, I couldn't even feel the inside of my cheeks as I tried to twitch my mouth only to feel the sensation of nothing.

"And say you got struck by lightning, who would be there to save you?" He replied smugly, knowing that I couldn't really outsmart his comment.

"I think I'd just die in a puddle." I said flatly, feeling all the heat evaporate from my body as a shiver went right up my spine.

"Do you even know we're your going?" Chris looked over his shoulder to get a quick glance at the street sign.

"Nope." I told him truthfully.

"What street do you live in?" He asked, probably trying to be helpful and actually head me in the right direction.

"Uhhh, I'm not really sure." I had to shout once again so I could be heard of the crack of thunder that echoed throughout the sky.

"How can you not know what street you live in!?" He exclaimed.

"Well I only just moved here a few days ago, like a know sort of whereabouts it is..." I trailed off as I did a full circle, standing on the spot scanning my surroundings. None of the houses or street signs looked familiar. I hated to admit it to Chris, but I was lost and had no clue where I was.

In a matter a seconds a sharp, zigzagged bolt of lightning hit the ground a few metres in front of us.

I jumped back, grabbing onto both of Chris' arms as I felt my whole body tense as a white light flash before my eyes. My heart was pounding through my ears as I turned around to look at Chris.

He didn't even seem to care that I had full on jumped on him because we both were giving each other the same look, knowing that we couldn't spend anytime searching for my house in the wide open when the storm was still raging. It was way to dangerous. We were so close to being struck. A few more steps and the thought actually occurred to me we could of even possibly died. Apparently there was a low percentage of people who actually survived from being struck by lightning, which automatically made me shudder just thinking about it.

For my first day in Sydney I guess you could say things definitely hadn't been boring. It had only been a few hours and already there was several complications and problems that I had to deal with. This storm being one of them.

"I'm taking you to my house." Chris said quickly, not wasting anymore time, "It's only a few streets away from here." He said encouragingly.

I nodded, knowing that I couldn't argue him with him on that one. It was wet. It was cold. I couldn't properly see my surroundings. I was lost. My fingers literally felt like they had frostbite. Going home would be nice, but I guess it would have to wait... Just for a while.
