Jakob's POV
"And there goes Isabelle again..." Chris sighed looking sympathetically at me.
"I'm not blind you know."
"Well you missed another chance of asking her out again." He shook his head and watched as she turned around the corner. I hated to admit it, but Chris was right and I was just being a pathetic coward by not manning up and asking her out.
What could be the worst thing that could happen? Her saying no?
And why was it that I could literally speak to any girl with outing even blinking, but then when it came to Isabelle I was all frantic and nervous? She literally drove me crazy and yet was completely unaware of it.
I guess there was part of me that hated the feeling of being rejected. I mean I don't think anyone particularly enjoyed being 'rejected,' but sometimes it's impossible to avoid.
We were discussing only a moment ago in Geography class about the whole game plan to asking Isabelle out.
"Movies?" I had suggested.
"Nah that's too cheesy."
"Bowling?"
"Not very romantic:"
"Fancy Restaurant?"
"Do you really own that much money to pay for her Jake?" Chris laughed to himself
"Hey I-" I stopped myself in mid sentence, "No wait, you're actually right..."
"Yeah that's what I thought." Chris sneered.
"Well what do you suggest then love guru?" I huffed, becoming slightly annoyed.
"How about a nice picnic near the beach or something? It's romantic, the scenery is nice and you can always go for a swim in the water or something... Plus it's free! Besides the buying and making the food part..." Chris offered, almost like a retail person or something that was trying to sell his idea to me.
"Are girls really into that kind of stuff?" I asked, kind of becoming slightly lenient on the idea.
"Yeah they love it when a guy puts heaps of effort in."
"How would you know?" I looked skeptically at Chris since I was pretty sure that he had never actually dated anyone before. He was one of those guys that would be friend zoned so quickly, because of his friendly and genuinely kind personality.
"I talk to a lot of girls." He shrugged.
"Right yeah." I chuckled amusingly, "But that actually doesn't sound like much of a bad idea to me."
"You can thank me later when it all works out." Was his last words from my Geography class that were currently stuck in my head. But of course, I couldn't thank Chris now because I had let her walk straight past me with out even saying a word or acknowledging her.
I knew that other guys in our year were also keen to ask her out, so I knew I had to make my move soon.
I guess I could always play up my 'In Stereo' and 'I'm kinda famous so you should date me' card.
