i was quick to hate him. or strongly dislike him if that is a kinder way of putting it.

he was loud.
he was obnoxious.
he made a lot of physical contact. (he hugged me right as he entered the cabin, fancy that.)
and he was overall annoying.

he didn't seem to notice my disdain towards him, rather he was too busy shaking up poor daniel. katie showed up soon after, and she wasn't much different. they both made me feel uncomfortable. they acted too happy and cheerful.

'so how do you pronounce your name again?'

he had probably asked that twelve times already.

'tie-n, like the river tyne.' i replied with a sigh.

'that's a cool name, never heard it before. hey, do you like seafood then? cause i hate it. always makes me sick, you know?' he went on, not even giving me time to reply. not that i minded. the less time i had to do the speaking, the better.

i kept making glances over at dan, and he looked far beyond frightened by is charismatic buddy. his blue eyes wide, and his knees bouncing erratically.

were we allowed to get our buddies switched?

by the time dinner came around, i was beyond done with kyle.

he was taking the 'buddy' thing a little too far.

asking me about anything under the sun. from my favorite color to the reason i was here.

i only told him i really like lavender.

'please sit with your cabin mates! this is a great time to get to know one another!' a loud voice blared over the intercom.

kyle, dan, katie, and i all found a spot towards the back of the outdoor feasting area. closer to where i could sneak away without anybody noticing.

i almost got away with it too. if it wasn't for the fucker i am tied to.

when i go up and claimed to be going to get a drink, the lanky boy with shaggy hair decided to tag along. ruining my escape. along with getting past the boundaries of my comfort zone.

he wrapped his long arm around my shoulder as we walked towards the iced cooler, and said a few words that made me give a stiff nod and keep my eyes to the ground.

'tyne, we are going to be the bestest of friends, i can just feel it.

an// so this takes place where the characters already mentioned (kyle dan katie and tyne) are around sixteen-seventeen. also, will and woody will be showing up later don't worry.
