the music, that's what i came for. the sound of the guitar mixed with the voices of the campers had shivers running down my spine.

i kept my distance, sitting by daniel as we watched the others jump around and sing. kyle had tried coaxing me into joining them, but i gave him a pleading glance and he let me go.

for that i was grateful.

instead he moved on to dancing with kate, singing obnoxiously to the strums of william's guitar.

i laughed at them.

dan didn't even crack a smile.

it was growing chilly as the night continued. daniel retreated to the cabin, only whispering a 'g-goodnight.'

that left me.

do i stay and try and enjoy myself?

do i go back to the cabin like daniel?

i decided with the first option, slowly and shyly bring my body towards the others.

kyle noticed, pulling away from kate (who looked a little ticked) and made his way over to me.

't, you decided to join the party.'

'i,um, yeah.' i muttered with an awkward smile, crossing my arms around my torso.

'come on, loosen up.' he chuckled, wrapping his fingers around me wrists and pulling them away from where i had them.

that made me wince.

'are you cold? im sorry, do you want my jacket?' he asked. this kyle was different from the kyle i saw the other day. he was being friendly. and i didn't know why. or how.

'no, im fine.' i replied.

it was too late, his warm hoodie was being draped across my shoulders and i was too scared to argue.

'th-thanks.' i muttered, not looking into his eyes.

that night i leveled up to swaying on my feet and awkwardly moving my hands.

if you could call that dancing.
