NOTE: Me last week: 'I'll update I've Got A Dream' next!

Morgan Freeman voiceover: She, in fact, did not update 'I've Got A Dream' next.

S2 E1

Angie had never seen Meredith move so fast. One second, she was standing between three painfully hostile New Yorkers, and the next, she was out of the hospital lobby and practically sprinting across the parking lot.

"Mer!" Angie called desperately, watching the blonde go. "Meredith, hang on!"

She didn't stop, weaving through cars until she disappeared from sight. Angie's stomach twisted in disappointment as she watched her friend go, and she turned back to the redhead before her, looking her up and down crudely.

"You're a real piece of work, you know that?" she snapped coldly. Addison had the decency to flinch ever-so-slightly as Angie harshly readjusted her bag, storming out of the hospital in search of her friend.

Addison watched her go, but Derek's attention remained solely on his wife, lips set in a hard line. "Addison," he repeated. "What are you doing here?"

Addison turned back to Derek, that small smile returning to her lips as she studied him for a moment. "Your hair's different," she observed.

"Yeah, a lot of things are different."

"It's longer. I like it. It's very Russell Crowe." Addison reached out, ready to card her fingers through Derek's hair when he dodged it at the last second.

"What are you doing here?" Derek demanded a third time, and Addison's smile dropped.

"What are you doing here? You just pick up and leave everything—your house, your practice, your friends? You and Angie just stop answering your phones? You have a life in Manhattan."

"Had," Derek cut in firmly. "And Angie doesn't have anything to do with this."

Addison lifted an eyebrow at his words and she took a second to watch him. "And now you have a girlfriend in Seattle and Ang has a new bestie. She seems...sweet. And from what I've heard, very energetic," she drawled teasingly. Derek's jaw clenched and he began to step around her.

"The ice you're on? Thin," he stated, beginning to stalk off. Addison rolled her eyes, turning around to face his back.

"She's young!" she called out, freezing Derek in his tracks. "The whole wide-eyed, 'ooh, he's a brain surgeon' thing happening, but still sweet. Which is what you were going for, right? The Anti-Addison?"

Against his better judgment, Derek turned back to Addison. "If you came out here to try to win me back, you can forget about it," he spat.

Addison's expression didn't falter as she stepped closer to him. "I did," she began, her features completely deadpan. "I flew all the way across the country to reminisce over wedding photos, get drunk, fall into bed, make you realize you can't live without me. Relax, Derek. I'm here for work. I'm helming the T.T.T.S case you guys admitted last week. And from Richard's briefing, I should be—"

Derek's head snapped up. "Richard knew you were coming out here?" he demanded.

Addison frowned slightly. "He asked me to come. And evidently, he's the only Webber that did. He didn't tell you?"

Derek's jaw clenched again, teeth beginning to grind. "No, he didn't."

Addison hummed softly, moving to step around him. "Well, surprise," she breathed, ready to leave him alone in the lobby. Before she could slip away, Derek blinked, a sudden thought striking him.
