His hand
entwined with
mine,
He looks at
me
for another
glimpse,
second,
last chance,
and squeezes my
own hand with
reassurance.
I weakly smile
at him
as he looks down
below us.
Eternity is at our feet
wanting us.
But I shall not
let it get a grip on
me
and
him.
I step back,
pulling him with
me.
Come on, I say.
He follows, laughing with me.
Never do that
again, I tell myself.
His hand
entwined with
mine,
he looks at
me
for another
glimpse,
second,
last chance,
and squeezes my
own hand with
reassurance.
"I love you."
