The Summer Before Senior Year

I was never a big fan of bingo so I wasn't really interested in the game - I was just going because I didn't want to get into too much trouble, especially on the first day.

I realized who, in particular, Seth was talking about when, during dinner, some guy - I think his name was Nathan or Nick - came to talk to me and for some odd reason, he was just mainly talking about himself and his car which disinterested me quite a lot. I think I got disgusted when he started talking about how much he loved his baby which ended up being his hair so I snapped.

"Dude," he stopped, "Just stop. Get out. You obviously have nothing meaningful to say so please leave."

He was lost for words and let out a string of curse words which pissed me off the more and before I knew it, I had emptied the rest of my cherry Coke on him - his oh-so-precious hair, his face and his t-shirt. I realized people had started looking at us.

"Dude!" he exclaimed. "What the hell?"

"Now get the fuck out." I glared at him and he stood up and left the cafeteria.

I was talking to Caleb before bingo about Nick or Nathan and he found it quite funny.

"That was really terrible, what you did to Nathan, Riles." Caleb said.

So his name was Nathan, I thought.

"Don't call me Riles. Only Seth."

He made a face before he continued.

"Okay then. That was really terrible, what you did to Nathan."

"He was being a dick." I rolled my eyes. "Enough talk about Nathan, let's talk about Caleb."

He smiled and took my hand and kissed it and somehow we started talking about music.

Caleb and I sat together for bingo and I don't think we realized when the cafeteria had emptied out till he laughed and I looked around to see about three or four other people. I finally decided to look at my watch which read 9:47p.m. He was about to tell me about his senior prom when I stopped him.

"I should get back to my cabin." I stood up.

"You should." he stopped too and asked, "Have you ever seen a sunrise?"

"No." I cocked my head to the side.

"We could watch it rise tomorrow." he suggested.

"Are you gonna wake me up?"

"I will. I promise."

"Then we have a deal." I smiled at him and left for my cabin.

When I got back to my cabin, I saw Seth sitting in front of the cabin playing with his phone. I stared at him for a few minutes, then pulled out my phone and texted him.

Hey bae :]

He got the text a few seconds later and his face broke out into a beautiful smile and then he looked up and saw me.

"Hey yourself." He replied signaling for me to come sit beside him which I did.

"Anywho, I came over to ask if you wanted to go swimming at my parents' lake house." he finished.

"I'd love to! Just give me a minute to grab some stuff."

I dashed into the cabin and saw Sydney and a guy making out on the couch. I made a mental note to ask her about him after I got back with Seth. I got my beach bag and put in my new black and white Aztec bikini, fresh underwear and an outfit for the next day in case we slept over. I came out in record time where Seth was waiting patiently.
