Okay I had to admit it, that Tara chick was REALLY good. There was this thing she did with her legs that made me - oh my God. She was just amazing. On my way out of her house, I brought out my cellphone to check for missed calls and texts - a missed call from some girl who I was pretty sure I didn't know and a text from Riley.

Riley. Damn.

She was a special one. She had auburn hair which was wild in a hot way. Whenever she tried to put it in a ponytail or a bun, some stray curls would fall loose on her face and it took every nerve in my body not to tuck those loose strands behind her ear. I don't know how but they made her look so fucking pretty.

Her message was clear: she wasn't going to be around for the summer. Bummer, I thought. I wanted to prove to her that I was worth it this summer. You're not supposed to be in love with your best friend but I can't turn back from this terrible sea which I have drowned in. I won't lie to myself, it was obvious she only thought of me as a friend. Once upon a time I would have laughed. Seth Winters, friendzoned. All because of Riley Cormack. I had to get out of there.

My friends had asked why I hadn't slept with her yet and while I knew the real answer was that I wanted to love her just as much as I did so it'd mean something to her I always shrugged off the question and changed the topic. The only reason I kept fooling around with these other girls when there was only one was because I thought they'd help me get my mind off her but that wasn't working. Because of my promiscuity she'd probably never take me serious if I went for her so I silently vowed to myself to never sleep with anyone and show her that I was the one.

I got into my car and started driving home with a lot of thoughts on my mine, one of which included summer camp. My parents would totally understand right? It makes good for college, too. Once I brought up college, my parents were interested and the fact that they were rich - making me a rich kid - and had nobody else but me to spend their money on would make them come to. Riley said the name was Camp Lakeside and it sounded like one of those camps where teenagers were in charge of mostly everything which sounded good to me.

As soon as I got home, I told my parents that I wanted to talk and it was urgent. We sat down and I told them all about the camp giving them my excuses for wanting to go. When I was done, my parents were on with the idea and made the payment immediately. I already had a debit card but my parents topped my account as I used the debit card for things I shouldn't.

I went straight to my room - once my parents were done with the payments and all - to start packing. I tried to distract myself with music but I soon got tired and turned it off. I decided to call Riley and when I did, it went straight to voicemail.

"Damn!" I tossed myself on my bed and started fantasizing about Riley. I found myself doing that a lot lately.

'Good morning Mrs. Cormack.' I said to her as I walked into the kitchen in her house. She was used to me not knocking and treated me like family because she and my mom have been best friends since they were in high school. Epitome of friendship goals.

She gave me a warm smile, "Morning Seth."

"Is Riley up yet?" I looked at my watch, 10:17am. She wasn't usually up by this time.

"Yeah. She just went out to do some stuff. She'll be back in a couple of minutes."

"Could I go up to her room?"

"Sure. I'm leaving the house now." she informed me and took her purse off the kitchen counter and left the house.

I went up to Riley's room and it was a huge mess. Riley was anything but disorganized. Her room was ALWAYS in order but at the moment, it was terrible. I walked around and saw a suitcase and some clothes strewn around the suitcase. She was packing.

I walked over to her bed and saw a pamphlet advertising the camp. I lay down on her bed and started leafing through the pages when the door opened.

"Seth what-?" she started.

I cut her off.

"'Camp Lakeside. A wonderful summer experience.' What's your take?" I looked up at her and noticed her grimace.

"Don't even-"

I cut her off again.

"I'm going to the summer camp."

I started rising from her bed and before I could fully stand, she jumped on me and we landed on the bed.

She was happy, really happy and I loved seeing her that way. It gave me joy to know that I could make her feel this way.

"You happy now Riles?"

"I'm a whole lot better but I'm still mad at my mom for not telling me." she replied.

She brought out her phone and began playing Temple Run.

"You done packing?" I nudged her. She paused her game and turned to me.

"Yup. Only now, I'm wondering what to do today."

"You got food?"

She nodded.

"How about Netflix?" I started smiling.

"You get the food, I'll set up the movie and clean this place."

She got her laptop and I left her room to arrange enough food for us to pig out on. Yup, today was going to be really fun.
