When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Kyle, Andy hovering behind him, both looking slightly concerned.

I could see their lips moving, but no sound was registering. It also seemed we were alone in the hallway.

The thing is, I couldn't feel anything. No pain, nothing. Panic set in as I realized there was nobody to help me if I was paralyzed.

Kyle was holding up a small vial filled with blue liquid, his mouth moving, finally his words made it through the blockage shock had made.

"Drink this." He ordered, and even in his hushed voice it was forceful. But I wasn't drinking any foreign liquid the strange brothers had, especially after Andy's creepy warning.

But he wasn't letting it slide and forced my mouth open, pouring the liquid into my mouth. I tried to spit it out, but his hand was clamped onto my jaw, keeping my lips firmly closed. In my slightly shocked state, I didn't really understand what he was trying to do and swallowed.

Once that was over with he smiled. "You'll be fine, I think Gabrielle's here for you though."

Andy frowned and whispered something into Kyle's ear, too low for me to hear.

Whatever it was, his face turned hard and he stood up quickly.

It wasn't until his hand closed around my hand and pulled me up that I realized I could feel my arms and legs again.

"Thanks." I whispered, not looking him in the eye. I was still fairly weirded out by the whole ordeal.

"You're welcome." Kyle replied, his face still expressionless while Andy nodded along vigorously in agreement from behind him.

"BLISS!" Gabrielle screeched, and I jerked my head around to see her bounding down the stairs toward me.

"I-" I started to say something to the brothers, but when I turned around they were gone.

"What is it Gabby?" I smiled, linking arms with her as we headed toward the front door, completely dismissing what had just happened.

"Noah asked me out!" She sighed dreamily. Noah Lavir was all Gabrielle could talk about after he caught her from falling down the stairs in fifth grade.

Speaking of, shouldn't I have had injuries? I mean, I fell a whole floor. That's not a lot, but when you hit metal stairs at an awkward angle, it should've hurt. But I still didn't feel anything other than normal.

"That's great Gabs." I grinned, opening the door to her red Camry and dropping into the seat, backpack on my lap.

When I got home, I had no choice but to tell my mother the whole story. Being the over-protective woman she is, I had to go to the hospital.

"Well, you seem okay. But I want to keep you here overnight for observation. Is that okay with you Mrs.Turnor?" Doctor Stevens turned to my mother, who looked nervous throughout the whole check-up from the doctor.

"Yes, of course." She smiled, kissing me on the forehead before following the doctor into the hallway.

I settled back into the uncomfortable bed, my attention split between the TV and the conversation outside, which I could hear through the slightly cracked door.

"I've never seen anything like this. If she really fell like you said, she shouldn't be walking around perfectly fine, and there's something about her blood..." Doctor Stevens trailed off.

"Is she going to be okay?" My mother whispered, sounding panicked.

"Well, it looks like it. There's nothing unusual other than the oddity in her blood, but that may clear up." I could picture him giving her a reassuring smile.

"Mr.Turnor!" Doctor Stevens exclaimed, as my dad joined their little party. They exchanged a few hushed words, before my he moved past into my room.

"How's my baby?" Dad bellowed, as he came to stand next to me.

"Fine Daddy. You didn't have to come though." My dad was the owner of a major cable company in the area, and all he did was work.

"Nonsense. My baby's in the hospital, and I am going to be here for her." He chuckled, settling into the hard plastic guest chair next to my narrow bed hospital bed.

"Thanks Daddy." I smiled, catching him up on everything that had happened to me recently.

Right after he left, a nurse informed me that I should get some sleep so I would be ready to leave in the morning.

I padded over to the bathroom, doing my business, but when I went to wash my hands, I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror and gasped, stumbling away.
