"This is so exciting!" Emma gushed, setting down a large bottle of Elixir next to where I lay on the floor, a dull ache beginning in my muscles. Andy was sitting on the couch next to an excited looking Kyle, but worry was etched on every inch of his face. I shifted as the aching moved higher, up to around my waist, the whole area below throbbing.
"It hurts doesn't it?" Andy whispered, appearing at my side. I nodded mutely, as the pain grew worse the closer it got to my head.
"What's wrong with her?" Kyle frowned, taking my hand.
"She's changing completely. It completes how she imagined, and sometimes that hurts." Aaron supplied in his low baritone, standing unobtrusively to the side.
"Maybe I can help." Emma put her hand on my forehead, closing her eyes in concentration. I waited for a few seconds, but nothing happened, except that the pain grew much worse and I couldn't help but gasp, mumbling profanities.
"I can't help her." Emma sighed, retreating back to Aaron's side.
"She needs to drink some Elixir. It'll help." Andy mumbled, holding up the bottle. I sat up with the help of the boys, and swallowed a few gulps of the blue drink before my jaw locked up as the pain got worse.
It felt like I was being ripped apart by a pack of hungry wolves. And there was nothing I could do to stop it. Why did Garnet have to push me off a stairwell? Why was she such a bitch in the first place?
"Holy shit." Kyle gasped, putting a hand to his head. "You're projecting your thoughts, and it's killing me!"
"Sorry." I gasped, imagining somebody strangling him.
"Unnecessary." He muttered, unimpressed. I smiled slightly, grasping his hand tightly as the pain was turned up about 50 gazillion notches.
"How long will this last?" Kyle asked, voicing my thought.
"Over and hour." Andy whispered, disappearing from the room so fast I didn't even see it.
"How bad is it?" Emma asked, her eyes showing anguish, even though she was in no pain.
"Like somebody's slicing her open with a blunt pencil and pulling out her insides." Kyle informed her.
"Lovely." Aaron rolled his eyes.
"She needs to drink all of the Elixir." Emma instructed, not able to be in the room, Aaron following her out as she left.
"It's just you and me." Kyle smiled painfully as I squeezed his hand.
"This hurts more then child-birth." I managed.
"And how would you know that?" He raised an eyebrow. I shrugged, thinking of the images I'd gotten when I'd tried to control people. It was getting late, and I still had a long way to go so I wanted to save my strength.
Throughout the whole two hours, Kyle didn't leave my side. He tried to get me to drink small sips of Elixir when the pain wasn't all that bad, and by the time the pain left for good, it was gone.
"How do you feel?" Kyle asked cautiously, as I sat up. Everything was somehow clearer, and I felt untapped energy flowing through me like a river.
"Amazing." I whispered, my voice even higher than it was before. It wasn't squeaky, just girl-ish.
"You wanna take a look?" I agreed, and stood up quickly with no help from Kyle, and he led me into the room we'd be sharing with Andy.
I took a step up to the full-length mirror even though I could see myself perfectly from where I stood before. But, I had to take a closer look. My eyes were an even more vibrant green than before, darker rings of forest green around my pupils. My hair was so shiny it was amazing, a shade darker than platinum with darker highlights throughout, and side bangs falling halfway across my face. My lips were a bright pink, almost bubblegum; full and pouty.
"I look awesome." I grinned, unable to hold it in as I whirled around.
"Of course you do." Andy mumbled, stalking into the room. "You were conceited when you were popular, remember?"
I did remember. An onslaught of memories long forgotten flooded into my mind. I remembered how I used to pick on Andy when I was popular, mocking him in front of his friends. As for Kyle, I hadn't spoken to him once. Many other memories of me bullying innocent people passed to the front of my thoughts and away.
"Oh god." I muttered, "I was horrible."
"Yes, well it seems karma has caught up with you." Andy rose an eyebrow, gesturing to my immortal form. Anger flooded through my veins, my face scrunched up into a scowl.
"Shut up. That was so unnecessary. I never get to see my family again, and if I do, well they don't even remember as their daughter!" I screeched, lunging at the younger brother. An arm went around my waist, pulling me back.
"Let me go!" I growled, pushing the thought into Kyle's mind. He let go of me immediately, looking scared. Andy was backing from the room as I ran at him again.
"I'm sorry, okay! It was the same for me, too." He pleaded, back against the wall.
"Do I look like I care?" I snarled, "I didn't want to be immortal. I would rather be home with my family a newly-appointed loser as usual!" I went to hit him, but he disappeared through the wall.
"Stop." Aaron appeared out of nowhere, calm as usual. He took a glance at Kyle then his gaze went back to me. "You're quite the powerful little immortal. Wouldn't want to get on your bad side." He commented. "Unlock Kyle."
I did so reluctantly, and he sighed before leaving the room.
"We told you that you would do things you normally wouldn't do. Maybe you should go take a run, watch out for danger. With all that energy, you'll be up for days." I agreed, and he disappeared too, leaving me alone.
