"So, what's going to happen now?" I asked, leaning my head back against the couch.
I was so tired, it was hard to move.
"Well, Kyle will change your parents' memories, so that they think you're their niece, Emma being your mother's sister. Then, your classmates won't notice anything different, besides your sudden beauty, although, you were always pretty, weren't you?" Aaron cooed, touching my chin. I swatted him away lazily, too tired to care.
"Fine, as long as I still get to visit them." I mumbled, stifling a yawn.
"Of course you will." Emma reassured me, turning off the cooking show she'd been watching. "Now, you need to rest and stay in bed until school Monday."
"Fine." I repeated, having trouble keeping my eyes open. I could see Andy, blurrily, whispering something to Kyle, who nodded and scooped me up off the couch. Before I could protest he was loping down the hallway with me in his arms.
"I can walk." I mumbled, my head lolling on his shoulder.
"I'm sure you can, but you need rest. Sleep." He ordered calmly, pushing open a door at the end of the dark hallway.
Giving up on protesting, I closed my eyes, letting sleep wash over me.
When I woke up, I felt perfectly fine; no pain, no aching, nothing. It was like it never happened.
I sat up, rubbing sleep out of my eyes, freezing in place when somebody moved next to me.
"Chill out Bee, I'm not gonna kill you." Came Kyle's voice from under the blankets.
"How would you know I'm not going to try to kill you?" I sighed, bringing my hand back down so I could straighten my wrinkled school shirt.
"You're still weaker than me. I'm older, more experience." He chuckled, I rolled my eyes at the double meaning to his words.
"Oh really now? And how old are you?" I muttered haughtily, bobbing my head like Garnet used to do.
"Old." He answered simply, emerging from under the blankets. I decided to let it go, for now.
"Question," I held up my finger, motioning around the bare blue painted room, that only held a desk, mirror and tv. "Why am I in your bed?"
Kyle chuckled, sitting up. I adamantly noticed he was shirtless, but chose to ignore it.
"Well, because you don't have a room yet, and you'll be staying here. And well, you were getting kind of heavy." I smacked his arm, and he winced. "Ow, that actually hurt."
I giggled, shrugging. "Guess I'm stronger than you thought."
He just stared at me for a second, and I knew he was checking my memories. My eyes involuntarily narrowed at the invasion, and he pulled away.
"Sorry. Had to make sure." Kyle laid back down, pressing his palms to his eyes.
"Hey, are you okay?" I leaned over him, cocking an eyebrow. When I reached out to pull his hands away from his eyes, a loud banging sounded through the room, and I froze. Andy strolled into the room, casually, and sat down in the desk chair.
"So, you guys. It's Sunday. Yeah, you slept all through Saturday." Andy added when I shot him a confused look. "We need to decide what's going to happen school-wise."
Kyle and I exchanged a glance, then turned back to Andy. "Uh, okay? What will be different?"
"Well, you're hotter now than you ever were before." Andy stated bluntly, his eyes shamelessly travelling over me. I pulled the blanket up further, out of self-consciousness, and Kyle shot his brother a look.
"Sorry," Andy sighed, before continuing. "Also, you will find that remembering everything will be easier. Although, I doubt you have an issue with getting higher marks?" I shook my head at that, I could definitely use better grades.
"Okay, well it's not like I have all that many friends now that Garnet got to them." I sneered, crossing my arms.
"Well, we know what not having friends it like. You, however, Miss Turnor, happened to be popular for years." Andy muttered, but Kyle once again shot him a look, and patted my arm sympathetically.
"It'll be okay." He reassured me. "You can stick with us for now. Just until your full powers come in and you're stronger. Then, you can choose to stay with us, or move on to a new life." He said the last part bitterly.
"Of course I would want to stay here, I mean Aaron is kind of frightening, but I want to stay close to my family." I confirmed, smiling softly.
The brothers chuckled at my comment.
Sadly, I had to return to school.
As it seemed, nobody knew of my encounter with Garnet, but I wasn't sure it they just didn't hear, or Kyle had something to do with it. I walked down the hallway, Kyle and Andy flanking me on either side.
"It'll be fine." Kyle reassured me, while Andy glowered at the students who stared open-mouthed at me.
They seemed to think I was a new student, especially Garnet, because she flounced up to me in her usualy dramatic manner. "Hey, I'm Garnet, and you should come sit with us at lunch." She smiled, attempting at sweet.
I rolled my eyes. "Slut, why would I hang out with you, you pushed me down a flight of stairs." I hissed, and her eyes grew wide with surprise.
"Bliss?"
I nodded, a sultry smile crossing my face. "Jealous that I'm prettier than you?"
"Never," she growled, before turning on her heel and stomping of down the hallway, Amy and Carly following.
"She's so jealous." I giggled, as we approached our first class; one that all of us shared.
"She was. I checked." Kyle chuckled softly, sliding into the desk next to me at the back of the room. Once again, I sat between the brothers, like they were my personal bodyguards.
When the teacher did rollcall, there was a bit of a situation.
"Bliss Turnor?" She called out, and I raised my hand, calling out, "present."
She squinted at me over her bulky glasses. "I'm sorry, but you look nothing like Bliss, and I have nothing on record about a new student..." She trailed off.
"I am Bliss." I stared her right in the eyes as I said it, hoping to will her to get along with it. Right at that moment, something happened.
"Oh, yes, of course." She smiled, and wrote present next to my name before continuing down the list.
"Whoa..." Andy muttered, blinking at me.
"What?" I frowned.
"You just made her do that. Willed her." He whispered.
"No, I didn't." I shook my head, returning my attention to the teacher.
"Yes, you did." He shrugged, casting a glance at Kyle, who was grinning.
I rolled my eyes, ignoring what they were saying as I pretended to copy notesI would never need with my super-memory.
