Kennedy worked with respected AAGs, (Assistant Attorney-Generals), Nicholas deBelleville Katzenbach, (January 17, 1922 – May 8, 2012); as well as Byron Raymond "Whizzer" White, (June 8, 1917 – April 15, 2002). And, despite RFK's controversial appointment, he was quote: "Washington's Number 2 man", unquote, as he feuded with FBI Director J Edgar Hoover over the high US crime rate, that would go even higher since the Vietnam, Bay of Pigs, and peace protests, and assassinations, became rife across America up to the late 1960's.
