♚ Tyler's P.O.V.

'How can a person fall asleep in a bathtub?' I kept thinking to myself.

I really panicked when an hour passed and she still wasn't ready. I know that girls take a lot of time with all the make-up and choosing what to wear. I mean a guy can only wear jeans, shorts and t-shirts while girls have so many options like skirts, leggings, shorts, dress, tops and many more. I even saw a girl wearing SKANTS( Skirt + Pants). Weird isn't it?

"Hey, you ready?" I turned around to see Alison wearing a white off-shoulder top paired with blue skinny jeans. Her hair was in a messy bun, and she didn't wear any make-up at all. Maybe, lip gloss or some blush, but only a little amount was used that made it seem like it was all natural. It was so simple yet she still looked amazing, and it only took her about 20 minutes or less.

Some girls would die to be as beautiful as her. I've dated a lot of girls and I could tell that Alison is totally different from all of them. First of all, she doesn't try too hard like other girls who would wear something revealing just so that they can get attention. Second, she's simply beautiful unlike others who would drown themselves in cosmetics just so they can feel pretty, but to be honest, they all look like clowns to me. Third, she's doesn't think too highly of herself. I have a feeling that she's one of those girls who knows she's pretty, but doesn't let anyone take advantage of her. She's kinda like Kate. I'm pretty sure once they meet they'll be totally close to each other and they will join forces to make my life miserable. I miss my friends so much. All of them are either out of town or went to some camp thing. I thought I'll have the worst summer ever since all my real friends are on vacation, but since Alison is here, I think it won't be so bad after all. Now, it's my turn to make someone's life miserable.

"Yeah, do you want to get breakfast first?" I asked. She must be pretty hungry, it's already quarter to 10 and all I ate before I came here was an apple, and I'm already starving.

"Sure, where are we gonna eat?"

I smiled.  "Leave it all up to me."  She mumbled a simple "Okay."

We sat down on our booths as we kept on bickering. "No one simply falls asleep in a bathtub." I told her. Yes, we were still on that topic. It wasn't actually a big deal but it was really fun seeing her face when she's pissed or annoyed. I guess that's why my friends do it all the time to me.

"Well, I did. I was still sleepy and when I stepped in the bath tub it felt like a bed." I gave her a look. "Don't judge." she crossed her arms. It was really hard trying to contain my laughter, so when I feel like I couldn't handle it, I just smirk which makes her more irritated. I don't know why, people would melt once I do that. I guess she's really a different girl.

"Ty, you're back! I haven't seen you in days." I looked up to see Sophia smiling down at me. Sophia was a waiter here at "Ben's Diner". She's in her late 40's and she's married to the owner of this diner which I guess you know the name of already.. I always treat them like my second family. They had a son named Tim who was only 3 years older than me but Sophia told me that he died because of an accident. It was really sad because I know that they deserve so much more. They tried having a child plenty of times but it'll always lead to miscarriage so they adopted a girl. Her name is Ella and she's about ten years old, but even though she's still young, she helps a lot in the diner, especially in the kitchen. I have a feeling that she's gonna be a chef when she grows up.

I'm was really happy when I heard that they wanted to adopt, even though I didn't really get the concept of adoption since I was still a kid back then. When they first introduced me to Ella, she was still a baby and I could see the drastic change in Ben and Sophia, they were both happier and energetic. It was like their whole world was centered to this little girl that they only knew for a few months. Sophia told me that her mother was a teenager, and since she was too young to take care of her baby, she had no choice but to give her up for adoption. I know that having a kid was all they dreamed of and even though Ella was not their real child, they treated her like one.  After ten years, Ella has grown to be the most optimistic person I know. She knows how to comfort me by saying silly things that makes me laugh, and I treat her like my own sister. I would always spoil her with presents, and sometimes Sophia would scold me, but I would always tell her that Ella would grow up just fine since she has the best parents in the world, and I meant it. They really do give her all the love in the world.

"I'm sorry, I've been really busy. Where's Ella?" I looked around the diner. Most of the time, she just runs around, asking the customers if they needed anything else.

"She's at the kitchen as usual." She then looked to Alison, and then me "Girlfriend?" She asked. I never bring any girls here unless they're my friend, so the only girl that Sophia ever met was Kate and now, Ali. I guess she presumed that Ali was my girlfriend since it's the first time I brought a girl here without my other friends. I never brought my dates here since this place was very special to me, and I don't want to hear girls whining about how this place is not fancy. It may not be a fancy place but their food is the best. I practically grew up eating here.

"No, we're just friends. My name's Alison, by the way." She said with a smile. I saw Sophia smiling as well. I guess she likes her.

"That's too bad. You look like a cute couple." I noticed Ali blush a little, and I just smiled. "Would you like to order already?"

"I'll take the usual. What about you, Ali?" She was still looking at the menu.

"Uhmm... I'll take some pancakes, and a chocolate milkshake." She looked up. "Are you going to pay?" I nodded. "Make that large." She grinned. I guess this was payback for all the teasing I've been doing.

"Is that all you've got? Make me pay extra for the milkshake. I think you could've done better."

"Oh, Tyler. That was just the appetizer." She said with an evil smile. I gulped. That was scary yet hot at the same time.

"You guys are too cute." We looked up at the same time. Sophia was giving us a look like she just seen the most romantic movie ever. "I'll get your orders."

"Sorry about that. Sophia and her husband, Ben, owns this restaurant. I've been coming here since I was little, so they really know me well."

"That's okay. She seems like a wonderful person." We talked some more, and it was really comfortable talking to her, but it didn't last long since Sophia came back with our food.

"Here is your chili-cheeseburger with fries and your pancakes" Sophia handed us our food.

"What about our drinks?" I asked.

She faked gasp. "Oh no! I forgot to bring your milkshakes!"

"Don't worry, I have it here with me." said a voice. I looked up to see Ben with a huge milkshake.

That's weird, Ben never leaves the kitchen. He's the only chef there if you don't include Ella. Something's smells fishy around here.

"I forgot to tell you that we run out of milk, and since you both ordered a chocolate milkshake, how about you two just share it." Ben said. I gave them both a "I-know-what-you're-up-to" look, but they both just gave me an innocent smile. "I almost forgot the bendy straws" Sophia pulled them out and put them in the milkshake.

"Isn't that girl holding a strawberry milkshake?" Ali asked, pointing to a girl who was holding indeed a strawberry milkshake.

"That not a strawberry milkshake. It's just a strawberry shake." Sophia said smoothly.

"Then can I have a chocolate shake?" Ali asked. I knew that she knew what Sophia and Ben are up to, and was just trying to tease them a little bit.

"No can do. We ran out of chocolate" Ben said. Have they been practicing this? "I have to get back in the kitchen. It's not safe to leave Ella there all alone, and Sophia there are other customers you should attend to." With that they left our table.

We laughed. "I can't believe they did that to us." I said between laughs.

"I know, and they were so good at lying. It's like they've been practicing with what they were going to say." Alison said, taking a sip at the milkshake.

"I was thinking the same thing. You can have the milkshake, I'll just order water. They have to have that."

"It's okay, we can share. We can't waste the bendy straws." She said.

We started eating, peacefully, and I saw Ben and Sophia looking at us with smiles on their faces. I winked at them, and when they realized I knew that they were watching us, they gave me thumbs up.

I guess they like Ali, too.......
