🎉 Tyler's P.O.V. 🎉
It's New Year's Eve and Hailey would be leaving tomorrow. I'm glad I got her to come here even though I'm out cash because I had to buy her first class tickets, but it was worth to see Ali smile like that. I did get a lot of kisses afterwards so it isn't a complete loss.
She probably thought I'd forget it was our half-year anniversary because I'm a guy, but I just want to give her something so that she knows that I don't take this relationship seriously. At first, I was nervous, knowing that this would be my first half-year anniversary, but I had fun these months and I know Ali deserves something, so I contacted her best friend, Hailey, through Skype. She was the one who thought of the idea and I approved of it since Ali has been talking a lot about how she misses Hailey, and I was right. When she saw her, I saw her beam like a Christmas tree, and they've been inseparable ever since.
I decided to have a New Year's Eve party for all of my friends, I wanted us to all hang-out before Hailey leaves tomorrow and Ali thought it was a great idea. It's already ten in the evening, only two hours left before New Year comes because I get to kiss Ali when the clock hits twelve. I don't know why, but I just can't get enough of her kisses, it's like every time she kisses me, it gets more addictive.
"Tyler, honey." I turned around to see my parents.
"We're going to bed already. It's getting late for us." I nodded as they head upstairs. I went outside to see evreyone sitting around the grill, making smores. I headed towards them and sat next too Ali who handed me a stick with a marshmallow in it.
"Why are making smores on a grill?" I asked.
"Because using a campfire is too mainstream." said Hailey. My eyebrows furrowed, still not understanding the concept, but I didn't anything else since no one was complaining so I just went with it.
After a few minutes, everyone else was eating their smores while Zack told a not-so scary story. Everyone else was just listening to him, waiting for the scary part to happen, but it never did. I guess when you're not in a scary forest, scary stories doesn't really have any impact. I mean, he was telling a story about a man eating Bigfoot, but we all know that Bigfoot lives in the forest, so I think we're all safe.
After the story, the other guys were playing with fireworks as I head inside to get a drink of my own. Zack was in there too probably getting something to drink as well.
"Great story." I said to him as I opened my bottled water.
"It's not so great when no one is peeing their pants."
I laughed. "That is true." He opened a can of coke and took a sip, then he looked outside through our glass door.
"Have you noticed that Hailey and Liam have been spending a lot of time with each other?" He said. I followed his gaze and saw Hailey and Liam still making smores. Hailey was laughing about something Liam said, and they did comfortable with each other.
"Why are you jealous?" I asked, two best friends who are fighting for a girl is never good or at least it doesn't look good in the movies. Damn, I've been watching too many chick-flicks.
"No!" He shook his head. "I knew from the start that Liam likes Hailey because every time we Skype, he never says anything."
"You're right. Liam always gets shy with the girl she likes, but weren't you the one who asked if she was single?" I questioned him once more. I have to make sure that he doesn't have feelings for her or else, all things could go wrong.
"Yeah, but that was for Liam since he was too shy to ask. Hailey's a nice girl, but Liam can have her." He cleared out.
"Too bad she has a boyfriend. I could totally see them as a couple." Zack nodded along with me until I realized. "Oh no, we're acting like girls." We were both wide-eyed. "We need beer." we said in unison. I grabbed two bottles, one for him and the other is mine. I hope this beer can bring back our masculinity that has been missing for quite a while now.
