Let me tell you a story about a young woman who fell into two crowds: the good and the bad.
Of course, there are pros and cons to each category, but I suppose it only depends on the way you look at it...

It was dark out by the time Arthur and John had finished up taking care of the grave robbers. Dark enough that all citizens of Saint Denis--minus the homeless folk that lie around, trying to find shelter from the summer cold--had gone inside and had long been asleep. Even Angelo Bronte had been asleep for some time, which led Dutch and young Jack sitting out on the steps in front of his home.

"Well, you took your time." Dutch hummed, standing up from the steps to meet Arthur and John as Jack reunited with his father, who lifted him into his arms.

"Where's your host?" Arthur asked.
"Like I said, you took your time." As the outlaws and Jack left the property of Angelo Bronte, Dutch leaned in close to the guard keeping the gate opened for them. "Thank Mister Bronte," he pauses, "for everything."

The metal gate closes behind Dutch as the four men walk into the street towards their horses, Arthur's mare letting out a bray of acknowledgement at her rider. John lifted Jack up onto the saddle of his horse, Old Boy, settling the boy between the horn of the saddle and John himself, keeping the boy secure.

"You know, Arthur," Dutch began, "Mister Bronte has invited us to a garden party at the mayor's house." He laughs, mounting his horse, "And us, just simple country boys."

"Don't know how you managed to rope us into that." Arthur shakes his head, a smile on his face despite his less-than-eager words.

"That ain't all," Dutch says, leading The Count over to Arthur's mare. "I have persuaded Mister Bronte into doing a little digging for us. On Kam."

Arthur's head perks up at the mention of Kam. "Yeah? What'd you do?" he asks, trying not to sound too eager.

"Kam, apparently, has quite the history with the man." Dutch said as they began their ride back to camp. "Before Colm had taken her, her parents lived here, in this shithole of a city. The Shaull's--her parents--were extremely close friends with Bronte, and in return, he is our dear Kam's godfather."

"Godfather? So, what, he has a responsibility to her, or something?"
"Something like that. That being said, I twisted the story around just a tad."

Arthur sighs, shaking his head as he thought of what Dutch could have possibly told Bronte in the hours he and John were gone. "Twisted the story how?"

"I told Bronte that Kam suffers from some kind of brain damage--hysteria and a little schizophrenia, are the two terms I used. That being said, I told him that Kam doesn't know what she does, who she is, or much of her past. That will help explain why she's in Pinkerton custody for committing crimes with Colm and his cohorts."
"So, you told Bronte that Kam weren't in her right mind, and that's supposed to help her how?"
"Because Bronte has pull with our lovely friend, Agent Milton. And now that Bronte knows his goddaughter is in custody, he's going to do everything in his all-mighty power to release her from the Pinkerton's."

"And you really think that's gonna work?" Arthur asks, seriously doubting Dutch's idea as the leader told him about it.

"Of course, it will." Dutch's smile turns wicked, "Because I told Bronte that she is most mentally stable when she is with her soon-to-be-husband."

"Husband??" Arthur repeats, his brows furrowing together.

"Oh yes, Arthur, husband. I need you to find a set of rings sometime on your way around. They don't have to match, but they need to fit. The story needs to be believable, after all."
"Right, I get that part, but who in their right mind would want to be married--let alone pretend to be married to Kam O'Driscoll?"
