CHAPTER 9
The winter days came and went and I was stuck in the library one lunch working on some homework I was meant to finish before my next class.
I hadn't realised how many assignments I had until I looked at my diary during the weekend. Out of no where I had numerous assignments piling up in each class along with their overnight homework sheets and readings. Not to mention all the tests.
I worked on a bit of everything until I couldn't on the weekends and most lunches I was tucked away in the library, books of all sorts surrounding me. I wasn't the most brightest person. I was one who had to work for my grades. Looking at all the books had out, I wished I was one of those people who could just read a sheet and be fine, but unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky.

The end of the day came finally and I was outside sitting on the ground against the wall with my laptop on my lap waiting for the rain to stop, but as I looked up at the dark grey sky, it didn't look like it was in fact it looked like it was going to get worse.
"Need a lift?" Jace came and stood in front of me.
Looking up at him I saw him grinning and I felt a sense of relief washed over me but I knew I shouldn't accept. But I really didn't want to walk.
"If you're not to busy..." I trailed off biting my bottom lip.
"I'm never to busy for you, sweetheart." He gave me his hand much like that first day when I bumped into him and was scared he was going to snap and play a trick and yet he did none of those things.
This time though without any hesitation I slipped my small cold and hand into his large warm one and was pulled up to my feet.
I slipped my laptop into my bag, making sure it was covered properly and wouldn't get wet with this rain and then turned to face Jace.
"Where did you park?" I asked him.
Sheepishly he pointed to the other side of the car park.
"Well I guess we should make a run for it." I said.
"Guess so."
We walked to the edge of the step and I was about to make a run when Jace grabbed my hand pulling me into his chest.
"Wh-what are you doing?" I asked, trying to push away from him.
"Keeping you dry," he replied, wrapping his arm gently around my waist and pulling his leather jacket around our heads before pulling me out into the rain and slowly jogged over to his car.
He unlocked my side and waited until I was in before putting his jacket back down and running to his side of the truck and jumping in, putting the heater on full blast straight away.
I looked over at Jace as he slicked his long hair back away from his face, the water making it stay in place.
"You hungry?" He asked me, pulling out the car park.
"Uh..."
"Of course you are," he said before I could reply. "Everyone's hungry after school."
I didn't deny his statement because I was in fact starving.
"What do you feel like?" He asked. "Because I could definitely go with something hot right now."
I nodded in agreement. "Something hot would be nice."
We ended up parking outside a small cafe and running inside to avoid getting wet, and people inside looking at us like we were lunatics.
Walking up to the counter I looked over the menu wanting something decent seeing as I didn't have lunch but something that wasn't too big and make Jace look at me like I was crazy.
