An Unexpected Love

Chapter 46

Spencer's POV

Two month ago. Cathy just started working again. We had a case that involved three women getting their hearts carved out and he ends up eating the hearts of his victims.

We were all sent out to California for this case.
Cathy sat next to me on the plane ride. She was looking at the victims files.

"Look at these cuts, the suspect was having a hard time cutting up his victims" she says

"He's maybe weak or has low muscle capacity" Morgan adds

"No, because out suspect isn't a he, it's a she" I say

"What a sick woman" Jennifer adds

Once we land in L.A, California, we get to the L.A police station. We start going through more and more files of how all these women were connected.

"Guys look at this, they all were on dating website" Penelope points out

"Were they all seeing the same man?" I ask

"Yes, his name is James Madden" She says

"Was James seeing anyone?" Cathy asks

"Oh my goodness....Look at this" Penelope says as she captures our attention to the monitor

"He was getting married, but he called it off because his fiancé was......." Morgan starts to say

"A cannibal" I say finishing his sentence

"Who was his fiancé?" Jennifer asks

"A woman names Danielle Wood" Penelope says

"Wait what?" I say in confusion

"What is it Spencer?" Cathy asks

"She's my patient" I say slowly

All eyes are on me now.

"Was she the woman that was at the supermarket a few months ago?" Cathy asks

"Yes" I say in such shock, I never knew she would do such a thing

"Where does she work?" Hotchner asks

"She works at a Factory, she's the secretary" Penelope says

And with that we were all out there and on our way to arrest Danielle.

We get to the factory that she worked at. But it looked like it was abandoned. We went on further and to our surprise the back door was wide open just for us. We got inside and it was pitch black dark. We turned on our flash lights while holding our guns and realizes that there were multiple levels of the factory. So we split up. I was with Cathy, Hotch and Rossi were together and Jennifer with Morgan. Cathy and I covered the basement.

We were walking down the flight of stairs. We check every door there is and we were left with one.

We look at each other and give each other the approving nod. She kicks down the door and I rush inside. She follows closely behind me.

"Do you see anything?" I ask Cathy

"No! You?"

The lights suddenly turn on. We look around and I see someone behind Cathy.

A blonde woman, tall and slender approaches her and before I can say anything she hits Cathy really heard on the head with a gun.

"Cathy!" I manage to get out of my mouth.

She falls to the floor, and lays there unconscious.

"That should buy me sometime" The woman says as she kicks Cathy's body over so she lays on her stomach

"Remember me Spencer?" she asks stepping over Cathy straight towards me, giving me a smirk

"What do you want from me?" I ask impatiently

"I heard you and your girl here got engaged. How cute. Congratulations. It's so cute, it makes me want to barf" She says in jealousy

"You must wonder why I killed all those women huh?" she says circulating around me

"When my fiancé told me he worked late nights, I knew that little leech was with other women. You must understand how utterly in distraught I was. I mean I was just a complete mess for weeks. But I pulled myself together and decided to kill each and everyone of them. One by one, I killed them. I don't know what compelled me to eat their hearts, but I was just so caught up in the moment. And to my surprise I loved eating them." She says proudly

"But Spencer that's why I went to you, I needed your help. When my fiancé cut off our engagement because he found out what I did, I obviously had to get rid of him too. But when I was sad, you were there to comfort me. Your voice soothes me. So calming." She says as she slowly walks towards me

"When I found out about your little engagement, I was outraged, heartbroken" She says

"what do you want?" I ask again

"I want you" She says slowly

"And what makes you think I'll just comply with you?" I say as I chuckle a little

"Only one way out and one way in out of this basement and you guys were dumb enough to close the door behind you guys. One point for me. This basement can only be unlocked by one key, and I have the key. That's another point for me. I have a gun. I can shoot your little fiancé and you won't be able to do anything about it. You can shoot me all you want but she won't survive without the proper medical attention. Or you know I always have my knife with me. I can just carve out her heart and just......"

"If you touch her I swear to god I'll......."

"You'll what Spencer? Kill me?" She says as she starts laughing loudly

"I'll kill everyone that you love, starting with her, then your two precious kids and who ever stands in my way with me being with you."

"Please? don't hurt my family" I say getting on my knees slightly crying

"Good choice Spencer" she says with a smirk

"What do I have to do?" I ask angrily

"On your wedding day, you tell her that you can't marry her and run away with me and we will live happily ever after and your family will be safe." She says joyously

"Why are you doing this to me?" I say

"Because Spencer, you're the only one for me, So if I can have you?" she says as she walks closer to Cathy

"No one can" she says pointing her gun at her

"Okay! Alright!" I say complying to her orders

"See I knew you would make the right choice" She says smiling as she walks away to the door

"You know how to find me" She says as she closes the door behind her and throwing the key to me

I cry as I mourn over the decision I had just made. This is for their own safety. I'm so sorry Cathy. I love you but I have to do this.
