An Unexpected Love

Chapter 4

(Cathy's POV)

I think going to Starbucks before work is my tradition for right now since Spencer and I have been going everyday for the past 3 weeks. All we have been doing is getting to know each other and I'm glad I can open up to him.

My phone is beeping and it's a text from spencer. And he's telling me to look up. And there he is.

"Well hello there stranger." I say

"Ready to go?" He asks

"Well my mother says I can't just go with any stranger soo I really shouldn't."

"Haha.....really funny." he says sarcastically with an irritated but amused face.

"Ah, so he does understand sarcasm."

He just stands there unamused. 

"Okay...okay let's go! Geez, can't take a joke" I say teasing him

We arrive at the BAU

"Good morning everyone" Penelope says as she passes the files around

"Well not such a great morning for me. Henry kept me up all night, he kept wanting to play." Jennifer says

"Aww sorry dear" Penelope says patting JJ's head

"Garcia the case." Hotchner says

"Ahh yes..... 2 couples have been murdered in their hotel room in the same fashion in Las Vegas. The women were raped and suffocated while the men were stabbed multiple times. These couples were well known business people. They were beyond rich, like billion dollar rich"

"The unsub is jealous of these couples" Rossi says

"But why kill them, it's not like he's going to inherit any of there money." Jennifer says

"Maybe he doesn't want the money, maybe he feels like the people who has the money doesn't deserve it." Spencer says

"Garcia, can you look up these couple finances, looking up anything that might be funky" Morgan says

"Ms. Daniels you are going to be undercover on this case. We need you to be at a new event that's going to be held soon. You are going to be a wealthy woman and you need to observe and see if you can spot the unsub. This unsub is not patient so he may flinch a lot. And he may not have a lot of tolerance for people who are boastful. He may be a waiter or chaperone." Hotchner says

"This unsubscribes kills couples, what makes you think he'll follow me alone, his pattern is always a couple. Or are we to believe that it was just a coincidence that it was just couples" I say

"You are right. Reid can you go undercover with you tomorrow night at the event."

"Yes sir" Spencer responds says

We are dismissed to go back home and pack the stuff we need. I got all my necessities but I don't have any dresses or actual makeup or shoes or anything for me to actually play this part. I started to panic a little but i know the right person to call!

(Ring ring)

"Penelope hi! Are you busy?"

"No not at all what you need sweet pea"

"Can you take me shopping?"

Then all you can hear is screaming of delight.

"Oh my gosh yes I would love to take you shopping! Why do you need to go specifically?"

"Well since tomorrow I'm undercover I don't have that many things that make me look rich and all that stuff. Most of the time my agency had prepared my stuff, so I'm kind of clueless as to I'm supposed to buy"

"Meet me at the mall at 2 o clock. Be prepared to be out all day long!"

"Okay!!"

I hang up, but I'm a little scared of what's going to happen but I was also excited. We get to the mall and we go through every store and bought something from everywhere. Basically getting a whole new wardrobe. We go out for dinner and we are really exhausted from the whole entire day of shopping.

"Penelope all I needed were clothes for the weekend! Did we have to buy this much? But I'm not going to lie, I had a lot of fun today" I say

"I'm glad that you enjoyed that as much as I did. I hope we can do that again!"

"Of course we can Penelope"

We find restaurant and we get seated almost immediately. After ordering our food, Penelope starts to ask me questions.

"Soo are you seeing anyone?" She asks

"Me?...... Nope" I say

"I hear you and Spencer are getting pretty close? I hear you guys go to Starbucks everyday together."

"Spencer? Well yeah we are pretty close, but it's not like that though. We are just really good friends that's all." I say with a smile

"Well I'm glad you guys are close. Reid hasn't found love since Maeve died."

"I'm sorry, but who's maeve?"

"Reid never told you about her?"

"No."

"Maeve was Reid's girlfriend but she died right in front of Reid. He was devastated for months."

"I never knew, we've been talking for weeks and he hasn't mentioned her at least once"

"He's fine now but he still misses her you know?"

"Yeah I do"

Our food finally arrives and we go on about the team how I like it here In Virginia so far. And then we leave to go back home. My car was filled with so many bags. I can barely get in. I finally I drive home and unload all my stuff and start to finally pack for Vegas.

The next morning we all had to be in the jet by 5 am and I'm pretty sure everyone is pretty cranky. And finally we are in Vegas and we check into our hotel in Wyhn.
