An Unexpected Love

Chapter 9

(Cathy's POV)

I wake up as usually. It's Monday morning and I'm still hurt that spencer did that to me on my date. I asked him if he liked me and he said no and part of me just wanted it to be yes. I have to get ready fast to avoid seeing Spencer at Starbucks. I mean I would make my own coffee and muffins but I'm going to run out of time.

I finally get to Starbucks, I look around to see if he's in there. I let out a huge sigh of relief because he wasn't there. So I get in line and I hear a girl calling my name.

"Cathy Daniels? Your drink is ready." She says

I ignore it, I thought there was another girl with my name.

"Cathy Daniels? Your drink is ready."

No one was going up there to go pick it up, so just out of curiosity, I just went up there and I got my supposed coffee that I ordered. As I was about to leave the girl called me again

"Wait, this came with it." She says

I grab it and it's an envelope. So I sat down to open it. It's a letter.

"Dear Cathy,

I'm really sorry for ruining your date on Friday night. I wasn't thinking straight. I'm was just so happy that we became friends. Such great friends  to the point of  getting to spend every mornings together, meeting up at Starbucks and we were even lucky enough to become pretend husband and wife for one night. I just didn't want to lose what we had together. I'm really sorry for what I had done. Please forgive me?

Love spencer"

I cry happy tears.I took off running out of the store and I went straight to the BAU, looking for Spencer. He was talking to Morgan.

"Spencer!" I yell to him

"Hi!! Hey I'm really sor......." He says but I cut him off by hugging him.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you. And over exaggerating about everything. I don't want to lose our friendship either." I tell him

"Do you forgive me?" He asks

"Of course I do Spencer." I tell him as I hug him again

"Okay love birds enough now. We have to go, there's a new case."

"Well you guys there has been 7 women in the past 2 years that have brutally raped in Orlando Florida. All with the same pattern. They were all given alcohol and drugs before they were raped but the last girl died because of an over dose." Penelope says

As the victims pictures showed up one by one on the screen, I grew in shock. I knew these girls, they were in the same graduating class as me. 

"He's getting more and more aggressive with the next girl. He's a violent and a control freak." David Rossi says

"Well it's gets a bit more weirder they all went to one high school together and were in the same graduating year."

Penelope says

"Taunting girls that probably rejected through out high school." Morgan says

"What school is this?" I ask

"Centennial High School." Penelope says

"I......I went to school there. I remember them. We all graduated together. There was a high school reunion about 2 years ago around the time I left. And that's when the raping started. I need to know who went to that reunion."

"Let's get in the jet and go to Florida"

So we all got our stuff and went on our way to Florida.

"Cathy. JJ, Reid, and Penelope you guys go and head down to the station and create a profile while I David and Morgan interview the families of the women." Hotchner says

By that we got off our plane and we all went our ways. So we got to the station and started to make a profile.

"He has to be in his late 20's. Really strong and really repulsive. He's sensitive. He doesn't react well to rejection. He was probably rejected all his life or probably at a certain time and this high school reunion has set him off." I say

"Well this guy must have been a loner or maybe commuted himself to one girl. That one girl have him everything. But she probably left him and left him vulnerable." Spencer says

"Well I can't imagine who would that be from my school." I say

We start to look threw the list of people who were there. And all of a sudden I hear someone calling my name.

"Cathy! It's me!" I hear

I knew that voice, I turn around and drop my coffee to the floor. He starts to come closer to me.

"Cathy it's me, Andrew remember me? Your fiancé?"

He starts to takes closer steps towards me

"Don't come any closer Andrew!" I say as I start to cry. As the memories started to flood in.

"Hey wow there you can't get any closer buddy. You can wait over there." JJ says.

I start to cry uncontrollably. I feel this pain that hits me from 5 years ago.

"Hey Cathy! Are you alright what's wrong? Who is he?" JJ asks

"He's my ex fiancé." I say

"Why are you crying?" Spencer asks

"5 years ago, this happened a month before our wedding. I went on a business trip for a week but it got cut short for 4 days and came back early to surprise him. But when I got home he was sleeping with another woman. And I found out he had been cheating on me the entire time we were together." I say

"That's terrible" Penelope says

"No wonder you left Florida." JJ says

". After I canceled the wedding I had to get a couple of my stuff from his house. When I arrived he was really drunk. We got into an argument. Then he slapped me. I tried to make a run for the door but he tackled me and started to beat me until I nearly passed out. After that he tried to raped me. I smashed his head with a vase. He was knocked out and I ran put of there as fast as I could." I say still crying

"He did that all to you! He should've been arrested, did you report him." Spencer says

"I already put him in jail. He was supposed to be sentenced to 10 years but it got shortened to 3 years." I say

"I'm sorry Cathy." Spencer says

There he was, my nightmare. He has come back. I thought running away from my problems would cure everything but it all comes back to get back at you. And he has come back to get me.
