Unexpected Call (edit done)

While waiting for a cab outside the gate of their house, Kate suddenly notices her phone is vibrating inside her bag. She thinks of her boyfriend Dave, maybe he decided to call her to ask if shes on her way now.

She unzipped her bag to get her phone and press the answer button after knowing it wasn't Dave but her friend Chloe is the one calling her.

Chloe was her best friend and they knew each other's secrets. Now, that she's calling her, maybe she needed her badly, again.

"Oh, Chloe what's up? Why your calling? Is there anything you wanted to say?" Kate said on the line. She's a bit surprised by the unexpected call coming from her friend.

She heard Chloe's rumbled voice on the line.

" Hmmm, can we talk right now? I need to tell you something and it's important " she mumbled with sniffs in between her sobs.

"Are you crying? Did your boyfriend dump you?" Kate asked her after noticing Chloe's little sobs.

"No, I'm not! I'm just putting an act to fool you girl," Chloe said while laughing.

She's always like that to break her good mood. Chloe loves fooling her best friend.

Kate felt angry after hearing Chloe's drama but what can she do? She's always like that when they were young. Chloe always put an act as if it was like how she fooled her during April fools day.

She got a text message from her saying she slashes off her wrist and she was dying and Kate rushes off to her apartment to check on her but when she came in, Chloe is doing fine and make a crazy laugh at her.
She's very embarrassed and leaves her immediately but not long after that day, she forgives her. Chloe is a total brat and a bitch but she's kind in some ways.

"You got me again and I hate it!" Kate said furiously but after that, she manages to change the topic.

"Chloe, I don't have time for this and I'm late for my date now! Dave must be waiting so I hang up ok?" She said to her best friend.

"Oh, I see, sorry to mess up your mood my friend" Chloe answered and still laughing like no tomorrow.

After their conversation, Kate turned off her phone.
After a second an unfamiliar cab stop in front of her. It was not the type of taxi she normally rides. It was pale yellow with no plate number.
While scanning the cab the sliding window begun to open from it and a good-looking unfamiliar guy approach her with a teasing grin.

"Miss, where are you going?" the guy asked her in a friendly way.

He's so cute because of his two tiny dimples on both sides of his cheek. When you look at him you can tell he's just like a teenager because of his baby-face look.
She was mesmerized by him. After hearing his voice she came back to her senses.

"Oh sorry can you take me to the villain street? Ahm you know that place?" Kate answered quickly even she knew well that the cab has no plate number, meaning this is not a licensed cab.

"Yeah, I know that, come I'll take you there" he replied and start the engine to signal her that its time to get in.

Kate quickly hops inside without even knowing the guy's name.
She checks her watch and it's almost time for their date. She wishes that Dave won't get mad at her. Chloe made her slows down but she has no right to get mad at her because she doesn't know that she will be meeting her boyfriend for the last time.

Yes, Kate will start her job in Hong Kong but Dave wanted to stop her but she finally made a final decision. It's her dream to be working in a magazine company. All her life, she entered their school's publication because she wanted to be an editor, a magazine editor and now the offer came four days ago through her email. The Ava Magazines sent her a letter, an invitation to get her as their designer editor, and she was overjoyed to know it.

Her dream is here waiting for her and she had to decide whether to take it or leave it. Dave is her boyfriend for almost eight years and she didn't want to hurt his feelings so before she choose and pursue her dreams, she had to talk to him.

She was too clouded by her thoughts when a guy asked her name.

"May I know your name ma'am?" He asked her while peaking glances at Kate's beautiful face.

Kate felt a little uneasy about this guy asking her name all of the sudden.

"What?" She asked him again while reaching her phone inside her bag to open her GPS tracker just in case something bad will happened to her.

The guy noticed it and he chuckles.

"Don't worry, I am not a bad guy. I thought you resembled my late sister so I can't help but ask your name" he uttered with a little cuteness.

Kate's cheeks puff like a cherry. She had no idea what to say.

"I'm so sorry but I don't usually talk to strangers" she mumbled and shifted her gaze on the window.

To have a connection with a taxi driver wasn't her thing at all. She wishes that she reach her destination to get out from this hot guy.

They traveled for almost thirty minutes until they arrived at her boyfriend's apartment. She gave money to the guy but he told her that she can give it to him when they meet again. With his intriguing words, Kate felt odd about it. He doesn't know where her exact place and why did he wish to meet with her again.

"No, please accept this, I'll be mad if you won't" Kate insisted to give her fare to the guy but before she can hand the money to him, he went off at full speed.

Dave was only staring from his window with his clenched fist.
